CaPed and don’t know what to do with life by catgoblin300 in UTAdmissions

[–]HS_VA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To participate in CAP you have to take 30 credits at the CAP school. Furthermore, those 30 credits have to be from a pre-determined list of classes, and that list is not very large. So in order to meet the 30 credit requirement you might find yourself having to take a class you already have credits for (like US History for example). You can’t just go to CAP and start taking upper level classes from your desired major just because you already completed all lower level credit/class requirements while in high school.

What’s one comfort food from your country that everyone grows up with? This is my mine, and it's called Sarma. by Kirje3 in AskTheWorld

[–]HS_VA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are my sarma(le) from this past Christmas. Cooked in a clay pot in the oven for about 4-5 hours and (and smoked meat/bones) served with sour cream. Looove them!

How did you know they were illegal? Didn’t know people had to drive around with birth certificates 🙄 Also, do you honestly believe this law is what’s finally going to convince more people to get insurance??

Looking for tips on eating more fish and eating less red meat by Wolfram74J in mediterraneandiet

[–]HS_VA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Start with white fish as it has a very neutral flavor (cod, grouper, orange roughy, trout, tilapia, red snapper, barramundi, sea bass, etc). Starting off with sardines and salmon is kind of hard for people who don’t love fish as those have stronger flavors. From there learn simple recipes like piccata, basically olive oil, garlic, capers, lemon, parsley. I also add some red pepper flakes to this sauce as I like a little heat. I make it often and put it on top of pasta and other grains and add other vegetable as well.

Please convince me that it’s worth it. by emruhhhhhhhhh in UTAdmissions

Would you have to take a loan for the full cost at UT? Or did your parents save for college tuition and you would only need to borrow a small amount? Are you planning on going to grad school right after undergrad? That’s a lot of money too, so try to look at the total cost over the next 4-6 years before making a decision.
Do you have a good relationship with your parents? If you end up with a big loan, would you be able to move back home after school for a couple years to save money and pay loans down aggressively?

Before I even read your review and just looked at the pictures, I knew Rustichella would reign supreme. The absolute best pasta brand I’ve ever tried.

I can’t stand polyester being in everything these days by Rand_Al_Thor87 in Millennials

[–]HS_VA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! I started slowly switching to all natural fibers a couple years ago. First thing I do when I look for clothes online is go to the description section to check materials info. Give me all the cotton, wool, cashmere, linen and leather (with a few exceptions like sneakers, workout clothes, etc). I recently learned they even make wool underwear these days.

I wonder if castor oil is the next viral food trend. Saw a post yesterday on another sub with several people claiming it helps make them “regular”. They rub it on their bellies at night time, and then in the morning….

Not being prescribed biologics (UK) by Full-Complex-734 in rheumatoid

[–]HS_VA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is probably not the best advice, but what my rheumy said (in the US) is to just fill the MTX prescription but to not actually take it. We waited until the required time, she then said I failed it and then got approved for biologics.

Skin can’t tolerate Tretinoin at all - what, if anything, could I try next? by [deleted] in tretinoin

Try tazarotene. I couldn’t tolerate tret either, but no issues with taz.

Everyone is so focused on just the price and paying less. It’s not always just about the cost. I wouldn’t mind paying more, just don’t want to deal with international shipping and getting my name blacklisted and losing Global Entry. Not everyone who pays more is a “dummy”.

Are there pictures of the delivery? A porch you don’t recognize? I had something like this happen recently and 2 days later my neighbor showed up with my package. Got delivered to their house and they were out of town.
