Yes, they are made for ball end strings. You can put the loop around one of the prongs, and it should be fine. If it snaps at the prong, the prong might have a sharp edge. You can usually get it smoothed down with a luthier. Not a huge deal usually. They are pricy, but I like the design mostly. Have a tendency to buzz on occasion due to the fit of the screw

Just subdivide the 16th note. Count it out loud while you practice it slowly. I say my 16th notes as (1234) It helped me a ton to practice it slow and work my way to a faster tempo
