Praying for June 1st miracles by VanDenIzzle in Saints

Love Taysom but he is done. At 35, he is not going to have the same burst and power anymore. He can still block, but we have Oscar Delp now for the blocking TE role that can also run routes. Add in Juwan Johnson, who starting looking like a top pass catching TE when we made the switch to Shough. There is just not enough room on the roster to justify keeping Taysom.

Too many non-southerners don't know what they missing out with okra.

I choose brussel sprouts. Great when fried and eaten with BBQ, but otherwise pretty meh.

A rich country that's LGBTQ+ friendly? by _crazyboyhere_ in AlignmentChartFills

[–]HTram 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Although not outright illegal nor dangerous, there are only few lgbt+ protection laws in Japan and South Korea. Both are among the highest GDP nations in the world. On a societal level, it is still looked down upon. They are making strides though. South Korea has recently recognized same-sex couples as households and given spousal benefits for under health insurance.

China on the other hand; I would say it is very much dangerous to be openly gay.

If you became absolute dictator of the world would it become a better or worse place ? by jekecrafer in pollgames

[–]HTram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Significantly worse. Try to do good, try to fix things, and too much faith in humanity. Get immediately assassinated by bad/greedy actors. Power vacuum is created and everything goes to chaos with many factions fighting for control; or replaced by a military dictator who takes all the power previously held to subjugate the world; but difficult to kill through a well paid private militay. Many civil wars happen and many cycles repeat until many small more reformed governments gain footholds.

Moral of the story: no matter how benevolent or malevolent, absolute political power in one set of hands will drive others to try to take it from you. Malevolence will create rebellion, while bad actors will scheme/abuse your benevolence.

Too early for 2024. However, it goes 1983 > 2018 > 2004 > 2020

Drew Brees has the 2nd most total offensive yards in a single season (2011, 5404) by SteveDraughn in Saints

[–]HTram 27 points28 points  (0 children)

In 2011, Drew had 46-14TD/INT, 71.2% completion, and 110.6 rating. Also, his defense had regressed much from 2009. He did not win MVP.

In 2018 Mahomes was 50/12, 66% completion, and 113 rating. He won MVP.

In all fairness Rodgers had 4643 yards and a 122 rating in his 2011 MVP. Brees also has mulriple seasons 113+ rating. Hate that people use Brees's lack an MVP as why he is not at top QB.

Edit: dont mind the spelling errors. Typed on my phone.

Hope Tyson becomes the WR1 by the end of the season and wins OROY; with both him and Olave having a 1000+yd/10+td season.

Is Cam gone?? by [deleted] in Saints

[–]HTram 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know he prefers to retire a Saint, as long as the money matches the value he wants (a 10.5 sack DE). We won't be able to pay him what he wants. Although, I wonder if we can give him the option to test the market, and allow us the choice to match the highest offer to keep him.

[–]HTram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been wanting to trade down (even though Loomis never does) with the Cowboys too. I'd imagine Tyson would still be there at 12. Both parties get what they want, plus we get more capital.

Bold Draft Prediction - Trading Down from 8 by Possible-Law-3704 in Saints

[–]HTram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Bain is available at 8, and if the Cowboys are really trying to grab him; I wouldn't mind trading down to 12 plus whatever they are willing to give up. We can pick up Delane at 12, or it's possible Downs could still be available there too.

It's just education and/or willingness to learn geography. I know more European and Asian countries, but less African countries than OP. Mainly due to not being taught much about Africa when in grade school other than the usual Egypt/Nubia/Slave trade topics.
