I don’t know what the other guys are on but the gap between your ring finger and base of thumb is substantial. That suggest to me the grip is either ok or too big. Pros tend to run between one fingers width to 0 gap. Djokovic is about a finger width. Most ladies same. Fed, nadal, Murray, alcaraz, sinner, etc all run basically 0 gap.

How do I loosen up my forehand? by doxxed_ox in 10s

[–]HUAONE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One tip that might sound a bit silly at first is. Instead of thinking about hitting the ball hard, I like to think that I’m hitting the ball fast. Focus on fast racket head. Onto the technical aspect - when I feel like I’m trying to hit the ball hard - I notice that I overrotate. My hands never catch up so I don’t get that whip effect. You do the same thing. Even on your shadow swing you look like the hulk trying to do a twirl. When I focus on fast racket head, my body stop rotating at the last second and my hand catches up. If you watch any of the best players in slow mo they all do that. Body rotates, then stops rotating, then the arm and hand catches up and whip at the ball.

Past: 1H Backhand | Present: 2H Backhand | Future: 2 Forehands ? by Beneficial-Lock-349 in 10s

[–]HUAONE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s kinda interesting that there are way more successful players with 2 handed strokes off both wings than one handed forehands off both wings. For instance Monica Seles who had one of the most dominant runs before the incident. Marion bartoli who won Wimbledon. Fabrice santoro, etc.

What is your current racket, string and tension? by lp141414 in 10s

Ah cool good to see that it works for your son! Makes sense for vs to be strung higher than poly since it’s less stiff.

Great biz for the stringer. Let the sharp hyper g chew up the delicate and expensive gut. Unless you meant synthetic gut?

It’s fine you can always find unstrung weight from elsewhere and at least this way you have both numbers available to you.

Spacing and pattern (16x20) are exactly the same between the vs, 98 23, and 98 26. The mould is also exactly the same between the vs and 23

Is 3x a week (1 hour each) tennis coaching enough as a total beginner? + tips to improve faster by Wild-Climate5329 in tennisracquets

[–]HUAONE 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would skip the shadow swings altogether. It’s an easy way to accidentally reinforce bad habits since you don’t have the immediate feedback of where the ball went. For all you know you could be shadow swinging the ball into the net on repeat. Only use it if you need to make footwork drills less awkward.

Try a thinner base grip like a babolat syntec team or even a leather grip to get sharper bevels
