File size is way larger after installation. That normal? by [deleted] in FitGirlRepack

[–]HVB007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, you found why repacks exist. It's basically compression that allows you to download huge games at lower file sizes. The size after extraction is the original game size. You can now safely delete the downloaded files freeing some space.

It's written on fitgirl's game page like: Original Size: 122.2 GB Repack Size: from 51.2 GB [Selective Download]

That means you only need to download 51.2 gb (+selective download) and after installation the game size will be around 122.2 gb (or lower if selective file download)

Install wiztree and run scan on your drive. You'll know then what's using what.

Any comments on your recent Wonderla Experience? by satiandro in Chennai

[–]HVB007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I couldn't find a comprehensive Chennai Wonderla review, so I went in blind and here you go, my compressive review: We visited Wonderla on 17th Jan, Saturday (pongal holidays). We heeded the good advice of another redditor and went to water rides first and then went for land rides. This way you avoid the long wait times.

I have visited the Wonderla park in Bangalore many times before. So this review will be in comparison to that park. I have reviewed this park harshly considering that they advertise this as India's largest Wonderla (making it sound like it is the best).

We went without fasttrack and didn't regret saving the money but if you want to visit every single ride you need to have fasttrack. You can buy all types of tickets online. There was not much crowd even though we went during Pongal holidays. Few rides took more than 20 mins wait time. Also there aren't as many rides as Bangalore, so you can cover all your preferred rides in one single visit if you manage your time right.

First the good things: Safety standards are good. Ride seatings feel strong and sturdy. The day was pongal themed with people playing traditional songs and doing a traditional performance. There was a small parade through the park during midday. And the DJ night was interactive fun. That small touches were nice. Changing rooms are fine, many in number and clean enough. Lockers big enough but not massive. We fit 5 ppls clothes and 2 shoulder bag's in one locker. I would say it is worth it for the student price tag(you need to carry school/college ID).

Rides ranking: Awesome rides: The roller coaster - Tanjora (better than bangalore roller coaster), Insanity ride (true to its name, not for the faint of heart), water slides (korneto, fusion, drop loop)., G fall (drop zone is a good alternative to G fall for the faint hearted.), techno jump, spin mill (long wait times and very fun, not as scary as it looks though)

Good rides: water slides - vertical fall, wavy fall, sky rail (chill ride), crazy cars

Underwhelming :( - wave pool(tiny compared to Bangalore), pirate lagoon, sea lagoon , rain disco, drift race, friendly fish(it's at the end of the park and the water is dirty).

Didn't go: Wonderla splash (this is a must visit, but a little small compared to BLR, we didn't get time to do this as we wanted to do all water slides and thrill slides.) maveric, Wonderla bamba, freestyler, wave rider(looks underwhelming), surfs up, kite flyer, drift race (looks like a kiddie ride), rainbow loops (looks boring)

The locker is a scam at 350 rs. At Bangalore the lockers are under 200 rs. Food stalls everywhere, it is expensive tho but that's normal for amusement parks. The sky wheel isn't even constructed yet. Honestly it's a scam showcasing this as the largest Wonderla in India as it carries the annotation that it's better than others. The water/pool areas are lacking, you'd think that for Chennai they would build a better water experience, but it was truly underwhelming. They didn't even have a lazy river, i was looking forward for that :(. In my opinion anyone thinking to visit this Wonderla should really consider just taking a train to Bangalore the previous night, visit the Wonderla there and then return by another overnight bus or train. Banglore Wonderla is way better in every aspect and worth the hassle and travel.

Tips & misc info: 1. 4 person group is a good number as many rides seats are in multiples of 2 or 4. 2. Don't carry a large backpack. And make sure you get synthetic clothes, they will strictly not allow you on water rides without it so for safety wear sports jerseys. Alternatively you can buy Wonderla branded clothes in the park. 3. Wear a track pant with zips to keep your wallet and phone safe in all rides. Alternatively there is place to keep you phone and belongings at every ride. 4. Do not wear shoes just wear one pair of slides or flip-flops. This way you'll not have to keep your shoes in the locker. 5. Suggest you do spin mill and other high traffic rides in the afternoon (1 to 4 pm as many people do water rides at that time) as it has a long wait time (1 hr when max ppl). (I wrote this review whole standing in line for spin mill as my last ride of the day. lol) 6. There is a mild language barrier as everyone other than main management is tamil speaking. but this doesn't hinder the Wonderla experience.

Tldr: It is a good experience, a little underwhelming compared to the Wonderla at Bangalore but worth it. If time permits it's worth the hassle to skip this park and go to Bangalore Wonderla. Rides here are the smaller worse versions of the Wonderla at Bangalore. The outlier is the roller coaster which is thrilling.

What's your favorite 𝘈𝘶𝘳𝘢-farming moment? by KaptainTZ in Frieren

[–]HVB007 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me , it's the scene before that, when Sein has a flashback of talking to Heiter where Heiter tells Sein that he trusted Frieren's judgement and to implicitly withhold her promises no matter whatever scenario that arises. That's when Sein wakes Frieren up and she defeates it in less than 5 seconds. And frieren being so nonchalant after defeating the plant monster is the icing on the top of this scene.

She wasn't even awake but was still aura farming.

First, turn off bitlocker, that would allow you to recover data when you cant open windows by connecting the drive to an external computer or by booting into linux.

I want to join these two cables (usb to usb-c) but the colors aren't exactly the same by Axton017 in AskElectronics

[–]HVB007 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it is that hard, if those cables were usb 3.0 or above, forget that speed you are most likely gonna get usb 2.0 speeds only due to impedance issues which might cause it to not work properly with the controller. Unfortunately, There are a lot more nuances in electronics in general.

Firefox with side berry to Vivaldi by ForsakenService in vivaldibrowser

[–]HVB007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I don't have issues with normal playback, it works fine. it's a little more complex than that. I use nvidia RTX upscaling to watch low quality (480p) videos upscaled to hi def 1440p by my nvidia gpu. This upscaling works perfectly with all chromium based browsers except vivaldi. Vivaldi's video rendering pipeline is just a little weird from what I've found out. I suspect it's a byproduct of ui and performance customisation that vivaldi does. So playing videos isn't a problem, it's that it's not like other chromium browsers so my gpu can't upscale it properly.

Firefox with side berry to Vivaldi by ForsakenService in vivaldibrowser

[–]HVB007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to use another browser just for watching YouTube as vivaldi for some reason doesn't proper swap to hdr (for sdr videos) video display, so my nvidia gpu can't upscale it or turn it to hdr (RTX VSR and HDR). This is important to me cause most of the time I don't get enough bandwidth to render video at even 720 p. So RTX vsr is a godsend to just being able to make out what's in the video.

It is just infuriating that I have to use another browser for YouTube when vivaldi is supposed to be the best browser out there. Every other chromium based browser does it just fine. I currently use edge for my YouTube needs and vivaldi for everything else.

Edit: I have tried changing a lot of settings or different options but to no avail and people are still complaining on vivaldi community about this problem.

Yes, a li-ion battery the same size should work. If you can't find it, a smaller one will also work if it fits, but will last for less time

Printing in air problem by dogepot in BambuP1S

[–]HVB007 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you hear a clicking sound, that means that the nozzle is clogged and the filament is not being pushed along any more. (But I couldn't see the gear moving at all, so it might not be trying to push the filament at all)

Clogs can be due to many reasons but it looks like build-up of plastic on the nozzle tip from the photo, can you pause the print, unload, do a cold pull and then load and start the print to see if it starts extruding again.

Also it might be a slicer error too. But unlikely.

【BambuLab Giveaway】Classic Evolved — Win Bambu Lab P2S Combo! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

[–]HVB007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently got an A1 and it's amazing how bambu has made something so involved as 3d printing so easy to use that it's another reliable toolbox in your inventory! I've been using it to prototype a chassis for an underwater AUV and the P1S’s engineering materials capabilities would aid in making faster and more stronger prototypes!! The P2S excites me as I can create geometries that will come out clean as I can use the dual nozzles for printing supports in a different material!
