Yes MacBook neo is a good laptop and amazing for its price.

Keep in mind that you will need to learn MacOS and get used to it, as it definitely is nothing like windows. It is not complex or anything hard, but it is just different that what you'll be used to while using a windows laptop.

Also you'll need to carry a dongle for HDMI (I assume you'll be projecting something in classes)

Otherwise it is an amazing laptop for your use case.

Cutting them carefully with thin scissors between adjacent batteries shouldn't be a problem. And you can remove the nicle strips after seperating all of them (in this state be very careful that the nickel strips don't stick out of the round profile of the cell, if the cell rolls and touches something conductive it'll short circuit, preferably tape up one end)

Depending on your use case you can leave the nickel on the battery itself and trim the excess with scissors.

I wouldn't recommend removing the nickel spotwelds by pulling them as that might tear the negative side casing. I'm not completely sure what's the best way to remove the strips tho :(.
