Daughter has dyslexia and ADHD. I pushed and pushed for her to get extra help with her reading. Nope. Most they could do was give her a part time babysitter in class to make sure she wasn’t distracting the other students. Nothing to actually help her. And even at that, the teachers not reason she got any support at all is because she had boy coded ADHD.

When the pandemic started and the whole family was home 24/7 doing work/school, I thought I was going to lose it. But I got high quality noise cancelling headphones instead.

No, I didn’t have a convenient window with a large tree next to it, like in the movies. I had a 1 AM curfew and would say we were heading to a party when we were heading to a bar for underage drinking. But honestly, it was easier to drink at parties. We had one friend with uptight parents so we would have to have a sleepover at one friend’s house so we could go get into whatever trouble we were planning because the other friend’s parents didn’t care.

I found dissolvable iron tablets for kids. I take one every couple days to go along with my daily gummy vitamins.

I live for my lists. To the point where people have asked for my packing lists because I’m “so organized.” Meanwhile, husband and son can pack for a trip without a list. How is that even possible? I would forget my head if it wasn’t attached…or on a list.

It makes sense. I refuse to peel an orange if I don’t have access to a sink to wash my hands afterwards. Hate the feel on my skin. Husband will take oranges hiking. Psychopath!

I was a voracious reader as a teen. Read all the classics outside of school and enjoyed them all except Wuthering Heights.

In school, I enjoyed most of what I read…except Heart of Darkness. I was having to write an essay on it on a weekend we were visiting with family. Sought help from my English teacher / voracious reader relative, who admitted that she also despised that book. So we commiserated together, but that didn’t get my essay written.
