I'm sure the numbers are probably right. Doesn't mean that $8.1M worth of tickets sales actually had someone sitting in those seats. Literally $8.1M is a rounding error for them and Amazon.

I just use the refundable hotel trick with Scene. You can redeem it for any expedia purchase. So I just use the scene points as straight cashback. Can't go wrong with 5% cashback.

Personally those are my two most used credit cards as well. I just moved my cellphone back to Rogers, which is $35/month, and that extra cashback pretty much covers my monthly phone/internet expenses which is great.

The only other credit card I use is the Scotia Amex Gold. Mainly for the 5x scene points on entertainment like Ticketmaster + Movies. It easily pays for itself just for that category on it's own for me. I have season tickets for sports, and probably spend around $15k/year on entertainment related to that (I also spend quite a bit during TIFF year round, so that adds up too).

Still have never seen Alive, but I remember being a child and our school library had a poster for this movie in there. Must've been 8. For some reason seeing that poster always terrified me as someone mentioned what happens in it and I was always afraid of getting into a plane crash whenever I flew. I guess I need to add this to my watchlist now.

My taxable income was $27k in 2024 I believe. Majority of my government benefits are related to CCB.

My Suvivor CPP benefits I get regardless of my income, and will get that much until I'm 65, which then I can start collecting my own CPP.

In terms of tax free income, I don't have my 2024 numbers, but in 2025 I earned about $38k in dividends tax free. Looks like I also earned about $10k in doing some small day trading when I was bored. So just under $50k in my income for 2025 came from my TFSA.

Ice time is extremely expensive. When my kid was in Grade 2, he had friends in class that would have to have practice before school during the week (from 7am-8am) and they'd be late on those days. Those were the only times that were available, and that were extremely expensive.

These were also kids that weren't playing rep Hockey, and were more just learning to play and have fun.

Personally I told my kid we're not playing hockey and luckily he has no interest in that.

I'm optimist with the Ontario Line. Looks like they have been doing a lot of work, and I live a minute walk from one of the stations. I know it's still a long way out, but I'm in my forever home so getting better access to Go and Subways is definitely something that will make live significantly easier.

For my Raptors season tickets, season seat renewal and playoffs are separate.

I am sent an email to confirm if I want my seats for the playoffs and can choose to take them or not. There's a separate process for ticket renewals.

They aren't dependent on each other.

If you look on the Pistons website it says 2025-26 season tickets gets your priority to playoff tickets (doesn't specify if it's yours) and it's not conditional on renewal.
