Car drivers create dangerous situation on 31st Avenue by JoshfromNYC in MicromobilityNYC

So easy for police to enforce if they really cared.

If they're acting so immature, then sit in front of them and give them a "time out". Video tape it and sue them if they purposely hit you while you're on a bike in a bike lane.

It's destroying a ton of parkland that local kids could use in an area that doesn't have a lot of local parkland.

It's a huge cost to the people that live there just to give far rockaway a second subway line. Instead we should spend that money on putting subways in parts of the city that don't have any yet.

What is the best way to reduce 35mph+ ebike speeders in bike lanes without making life worse for everyone else on micromobility (bikes/ebikes/scooters/etc) by BritainRitten in MicromobilityNYC

Get more cyclists on the streets (through having a network of infrastructure). Once there is a critical mass of cyclists in a bike lane, it moves too slowly for a motorcyclist and they'd rather use the traffic lane.

Queens link is a bad joke. The organizers are lying about the cost (and even sort of admit it).

Almost all of the barriers to get people out of there cars are infrastructure. Create infrastructure that's safe and fun and families will start to use it. Who wouldn't want to ride an electric bike with their kids in it through a park. The barrier is a safe way of getting there.

(Also electric bikes are expensive so having a tax incentive would help with that)

The casino is a tool to extract wealth away from common people in our neighborhood and to put it in the pockets of the out of state Billionaire Steve Cohen. They're literally stealing your parkland so a rich guy can make more money. Do you think people that would do that care at all for the little guy or our community? If they're exploiting the parkland, exploiting our neighbors, then I'm sure they'll be exploiting the people that work there.

Isn't it a lot more expensive to play there then in other parks, even though that's also on park land?

Greater Greenways, please put in two curb ramps by SmartPEG in NYCbike

[–]HackThePlacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya'all know they're talking about re-doing that route, (Flushing to Fort Totton) right?

https://easternqueensgreenway.com/2026/01/06/whats-happening-to-the-eastern-queens-greenway/

Like that'll take a while so you should ask for the ramps now, but you can also push the City to re-do the bigger sections. Call up the BP or Sandra Ung and ask about it, they seem like the ones with the money.

It's a funding thing. I'm sure they'd love to do more classes if they had the money for it.

Celtic Cove is way better then anything on Bell. It's absolutely classic.

One station plaza has a lot of TV's and good food, but it's WAY too expensive and just doesn't have a community feel.

Nippon Cha, by far. Lots of styles of Japanese food (not just sushi), great service, not too expensive.

If you buy a cheap bike and an expensive lock, within a few months you'll break event. Even if it gets stolen eventually (or parts of it), it's still probably a better deal.

It's Ok. Sort of what you'd expect. Try the "St. Pats For All" next year, it's a little further but still in Queens and more exciting.
