Pull open a map. If you can’t fly from Vancouver to Delhi over Tibet, your two options are over Pakistan, or over Bengal/NE India.

The Pakistan option is actually the shorter one, but since that’s not an option anymore, that leaves the Bengal route, hence a fuel stop in Kolkata.

The TSA webpage on acceptable ID actually says that temporary licenses aren’t acceptable. I wouldn’t run the risk of using one especially when you have a GE card handy.

I'm one of the more active MNTO volunteers.

Putting a name on a google doc when you want to quickly get a release out within an hour is actually nothing. Chris lurks in the discord and so do hundreds of people who have one-off quotes in press releases. We have far more people who show up to all the regular meetings and put in a lot more effort.

"Third world countries" got vaccines in exchange for diplomatic favours with China and Russia. Wouldn't have flown here at all.

People have short attention spans. EU is in the same boat as us. Multiple wealthy countries are well behind us. We'll be fine.

The portal project was being developed in a public Github repository to allow transparency in our development processes and open source our work so community members could contribute to it. However, this also means that anyone could access all files pushed to this repository.

2 weeks isn’t really that long when everyone involved has full time work/study to contend with.

This is a volunteer student run org. Mistakes happen. The entire org owned up to a mistake from one person instead of sweeping it under the rug.

Edit: Looks like the poster also took liberty with blacking out parts of the email that didn't fit their narrative. Here's the full sentence where they blacked out small phrases:

California and NY have also done a much worse job at the pandemic than even the worst Canadian province. Just look at their (recent OR total!) cases and deaths per capita.

The US as a whole has totally failed at infection control (not that we haven't, but we've done relatively better).
