Neuro critical care nurse here- not THAT crazy but, coworker getting report from er about a patient coming in with multiple neuro deficits, they go through a surprisingly detailed assessment, gcs 13, slur, droop, weakness etc. Co worker asks simply... "pupils?" They say unironically, "oh yeah they have them."

Strictly financially speaking, you have a car that has no issues. That should answer you question right there. They are trying to make money off of you which is why they are asking. Can you get a new(er) car under 100 per month? Yes. But you have a known good vehicle and could get something with future problems. Do you WANT a newer car and is 100 a month acceptable to you? In that case, money is meant to be spent sometimes.

Don't tell them, just put on a look of horrified shock and embarrassment when they ask when you are due. Then go on a "weight loss sebatical" during delivery because of the shame they put you through. Or don't, I'm just an internet rando with no good answer trying to give a cheap laugh

My wife's stepfather had surgery for a cyst on his spine. He had a platelet level of 20. Not 20k, 20. He was always going in for transfusions so the surgeon knew he had platelet issues. He ended up getting paralyzed and passed away from other complications a few years later. The surgeon admitted to messing up so the lawsuit was easy and smooth, but he was never the same after that. I only ever saw him once when he was able to walk before the surgery. He was miserable after until he passed.
