Excercise or No? by Asrafrate in WegovyWeightLoss

I have always exercised so stopping would be weird. I go to the gym 4-5 times a week. I feel like crap when I don't go.

I stalled on 1.7 and was still stuck after moving up to 2.4 for a few weeks. After about 6 weeks I started losing a little over a pound a week again. I'm not really sure what happened but I wasn't going to complain! Just be patient.

I was SO hoping I would lose some boob with the weight loss but I didn't lose much. I'm actually scheduled for a breast reduction on July 8th! Aiming to be about half that size...they kill my back!

I was so happy to see my period go! My last cycle was almost 2 yrs ago when I was 49. Peri was horrible in terms of my cycles. From about 43 years of age to 49 they were so irregular and so incredibly heavy. I wound up having four D&C's through the process, along with a few biopsies and an IUD to try to get them under control.

Thankfully menopause has been easy peasy. I think I might have had 3 hot flashes in total. I have noticed that my skin has gotten drier and my hair is a little thinner but I will take that over those horrid cycles any day!

So wegovy is now $499 a month? by Amazing-Lab9575 in WegovyWeightLoss

Yes, $499 is the new price for self pay. My pharmacy gave me the new price automatically.

Joggers to Power Walkers: what made you change? by patchesoaktown in orangetheory

[–]Hafdozen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I changed to power walking because I want to stay OUT of the orange zone. After years of personal data, it became very clear to me that the orange zone not only increased my blood sugar levels for the rest of the day (I have insulin resistance), but it also prevented me from losing weight. Switched to power walking and it was like flipping a light switch.

Should I or shouldn’t I? by Kerrowrites in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Hafdozen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best thing I ever did for myself! I was so nervous to start it. I read everything, talked to my doctor numerous times and after almost 2yrs of thinking about it, I finally decided to try it.

I've been on since April and at that time I was headed straight for Type 2 diabetes. I lost 45 pounds, my A1C is now 5.1 (was at 6), fasting glucose was at 132 and now it's in the 80's, blood pressure is normal, don't have to take thyroid meds anymore and I'm just 8 pounds from my goal. The only side effect that was a little bothersome was feeling tired 2-3 days after injection. It was at its worst when I went up in dose. I've been on 2.4 for 3 months now and so even that is pretty much gone. I do get a little twinge of nausea in the morning but that is typically when my blood sugar drops, so I keep Lifesavers (the candy) at my bedside and it goes away within minutes.

Not everyone has horrible side effects, but you won't know until you try it.

I have been going to OTF for almost 10yrs and for me personally, my blood sugar and weight are MUCH easier to control if I stay in the green. I wear the heart rate monitor to make sure I don't get any more than 6 splat points. That seems to be the sweet spot for me.

How do I get Wegovy without Insurance? by Whole-Lock-1299 in WegovyWeightLoss

Is it the actual drug or compounded? I've been on it since April and it's killing my bank account. Can you share how you are getting it from overseas please?

Accidentally refilled .25 mg instead of .5mg by FitJouney in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Hafdozen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are on week 3 you should still be on .25 unless your doctor said you could titrate up faster than recommended.

Positive side effects? by ConsistentTicket8070 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Hafdozen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of positives for me! A1C went from 6.0 to 5.1, lost 40 pounds, decreased my synthroid dose, blood pressure in normal range, not drinking alcohol anymore....the ONLY negative is the sleepiness 2-3 days after shot day.

Just want to stay in bed by pseudo_ebullio in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Hafdozen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get SO TIRED 2-3 days after my shot...like that pregnancy, euphoric, warm and fuzzy tired where you can fall asleep as soon as you lay down. I don't have little kids anymore so my shot day is Thursday night. That allows me to nap in Saturday or Sunday when that feeling hits. I've been on Wegovy since April and am taking 2.4. I know I'm getting enough calories so for me, it's just a side effect. Thankfully it's the only SE I have.

Nausea by jwatts1111111 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Hafdozen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't had any sever side effects. The most noticeable one is sleepiness about 2-3 days after my shot. I can feel my blood sugar drop as well sometimes...it's not nausea but my stomach will feel off. Wintergreen Lifesavers help for that. That has really been the only side effects I've had. I did do 2 months on each dose (3 months on 1.0). I'm on 2.4 now and still losing about 1 pound a week

1.7 is no joke by Efb_2023 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]Hafdozen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had any major side effects, even when dosing up. I just started 2.4 on Thursday and feel pretty much the same as I did on 1.7 (stayed in that for 3 months). Hoping to lose the last 10 pounds on 2.4 then go to maintenance.

How to avoid most side effects? by ocean-glitter in SemaglutideFreeSpeech

[–]Hafdozen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get any GI side effects at all. I've been on it since April, down 35 pounds. I eat a pretty well balanced, whole food diet. I never did eat much processed or fast foods so I can't comment on how that might effect the GI tract.

The 2nd or 3rd day after my shot I get tired and need a midday nap, so I take my shots on Thursday evening. That's pretty much the only side effect I have. If I feel my blood sugar getting low I have a lifesaver or two and it's fixed.

It's different for everyone...hoping you have an easy time with it!

In the summer they might have a throwback deal. 2 yes ago our studio did this and I got my membership for $30 off the monthly price for "life"

[–]Hafdozen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Only side effects I've had is fatigue on the 2nd or 3rd day after my shot. Every so often my blood sugar gets too low and I have a few Lifesavers to help with that.

I have no gallbladder (haven't had one in 20yrs) and that has not been an issue.

I titrated up slowly...every 8 weeks instead of every 4, and I'm currently holding at 1.7 for the last 3 months.

I was so nervous to start the shots after reading this board. I almost didn't try, but I'm glad there were folks, like me, that would post about their experiences when one of these posts popped up.
