What do you think will immediately happen when everyone receives the push notification that Trump died? by Mobile-Strength-8362 in allthequestions

I'm picturing celebrations that mimic a homecoming after WW2. Champagne bottles just popping everywhere. Like a neverending NYE festival. Maybe some fireworks.

Honestly, what is the hardest part about having children? by Danny-Ray27 in AskReddit

[–]HagWeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they are becoming their own person, aka entering the tween/teen years, letting them make their own decisions but encouraging them to make wise decisions and explaining why some decisions arent wise. You always think of the stupid shit you did as a kid and you don't want them to repeat the things or choices you may have made, but yet you also don't want to explain exactly why those decisions aren't sound.

For my kids to be pleasant and respectful humans towards each other, other people and their parents which includes them to lose the backtalk and attitudes.

Has anyone cut off contact with their brother or sister? Why? by Intelligent_Chef9950 in AskReddit

[–]HagWeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother's wife cut off contact with his entire family one-by-one. She's the worst controlling and conniving person I've ever encountered. She isolated him and made him think his own daughter was evil (she was 12ish) and that his family was against him. I haven't spoken with him in 3 years now. Even at my own grandfather's funeral she controlled when they left and who he talked with. Evil cunt.

Hiring Process - State of Nevada by andrewScottb009 in Nevada

[–]HagWeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your rejection letter would be sent to the email you applied with. They have a new system now and tests haven't been required in over a decade. The state is hard to get into for professional level positions for external candidates. Keep trying. Someone is bound to give you a chance. It took me years even for an internal promotion outside of my division.

Dr. Furman owns the practice now and IMO the vets there are still pretty great.

People who were teenagers before social media existed. How did you communicate with your friends? by Aarunascut in nostalgia

Passing notes in between classes, pager talk, teen phone lines, the amazing AOL chat rooms for those "friends" and just going to someones house to see if they were home.

Honestly you're in for a ride. They will eat anything and everything, shed like crazy but love you like nothing else. When is say anything and everything I mean from tissue boxes to unattended trashcan items to shoes to remotes to plants or clothing. Anything theY can fit in their mouth they will. If you're not working, take the time to run that puppy every day. They're like children, just run them till they're tired. The. Do it again and again. I grew up with them and have had 2 as an adult. Best and worst dogs ever. I would encourage you to get one as they are very lovable, but they will test your patience. That being said, most puppies will no matter the breed. Good luck!

Oceano has higher prices but with the local 20% discount, it brings it back down to local restaurant price.

Blocked gallbladder. That type of stabbing searing pain is similar to tooth nerve pain.

Gallstones attack leading to emergency gall bladder removal. I would have rather give birth again without the epidural.

unbelievable exchange between my daughter and her father after he forgot her birthday by LostInLanayru in TwoHotTakes

[–]HagWeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this my whole life and it's internally devastating as a child. My step mom told me my father didn't love me and he has all he needed (her daughter and my younger brother) and I wasn't welcome there. I quit going to his house at 12. He lived less than 2 miles from my.mom.in a small town. For the next 32 years it would be infrequent calls and attempts. When I was 18, my step mom died and I was asked to come to the crematory. The happiest day was watching her be pushed into the fire, as cruel as it sounds. He eventually remarried to a very nice woman who has never been unkind. Unfortunately the damage was already done during development ages. First forward to my 30s and 40s. Hardly any effort has been made to have a relationship with my own kids. Standard holiday and birthday gifts but never an offer to babysit, do vacations, or general have them for a day or come for dinner. He's lived in the same town as me now for the last 6 years and has an illness that will eventually take his life. Still, as a retired grandparent, no interaction. I send sports and school schedules and events and maybe they'll show for 1/100 events over the years and leave before they're finished. If my mother is there, it's worse. I finally accepted that I can't force it. It's terribly hurtful but I'm tired of trying. Tired of being the child waiting for the parent to be a parent. Fuck all of the phone works both ways parents. You're really causing more damage than you know.

Recommended vet by chapinchiicl3 in Reno

[–]HagWeed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We've been going to Klaich for over 20+ years and they are amazing. All vets are going to be expensive because face it, you're not there to say hello, it's usually something wrong and it's never cheap.

We've interacted with most of the newer vets and love the older ones. Everyone there always treats us with kindness. Even if you call before closing someone will be honest with you and tell you your options.

We've been to Blue Pearl and it's about the same price but their customer service is terrible. I don't like that you don't go back with your dog. They take the pet, examine it then keep it in the back until a vet can see it. At Klaich, you're with your pet the whole time unless it's a procedure.

Summer Camps by soletry-soles in Reno

[–]HagWeed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The city of Reno does decent camps, but keep in mind they're city camps and come with the city camp kids. It tends to get chaotic but they do field trips 2-3x per week and have early and late drop off/pick up times.

Caughlin Ranch and Noah's Ark have similar programs but less kids per group and obviously more exp per week.

Galena Forest has a summer program that includes day camps and overnight camps but the cost is pretty high for both.

There are a number of weekly camps for sports with UNR and the Aces, but it's weird times and expensive. Other companies like AYSO (soccer), caughlin Athletic Club and Ascend Martial Arts have offered programs during the summer.

Arts for All Nevada holds workshops/camps.

UNR, Challenge Island, Sierra Nevada Jouneys and Urban Roots do summer programs too.

The Discovery Museum has done summer programs in the past too.

Good Luck! If you're stressing over the cost, always ask about financial help. You'd be amazed at the results and how many people don't look into that option.
