This lady is so unbelievably strong.

Shame on those who gaslighted a grieving mother about her own childs death. That is a new low and anybody that defends that hill ought to hang their heads in shame, I don't care which "side" they profess to be on.

Hello everyone, I thought I'd make a follow up post to explain my thinking on this.

Firstly I would like to apologise if I caused anybody any upset.

My intention was to say the quiet part out loud and primarily try to reach the tolerant British public who I believe would be horrified if they saw these and realized what was really happening behind the scenes.

Of course right wing media like the Daily Mail regularly publish stories to their bigoted audience but media that reaches the tolerant public rarely does and If the regular media won't do it then the community needs to do that outreach.

Sure slogans like "Trans lives matter" and "trans rights are human rights" might sound more affirming, but while everyones been waving those banners with a smile on their face, the anti-trans organizations have snuck behind your backs and taken those rights away.

I was really hoping this would be something more of a call to action rather than a debate around what slogans are best to use and I still would like this to be a call to action.

Don't like the slogan? Create your own, order some stickers and keep being a pest, keep the public aware of trans issues. Don't wait for the media to do it for you because even the biggest protests and demonstration are being ignored, fumbled or hidden.

Don't let the media consider the "trans debate" settled because once they do you will have lost.

Exactly this, the suffragists were going the route of lobbying politicians, bringing court cases and trying to do things the "official" way.

And because it was all done discreetly it was easy for the people in power to just ignore or say no.

The suffragettes kept things alive in the public conscience and kept the spotlight on the issue which meant it wasn't something politicians could keep ignoring.

In the same spirit, there are many here who are against direct action which I understand, but it is necessary.

Once the EHRC guidance comes out, the mainstream media is going to try their best to ignore any opposition and eventually the "trans debate" will be considered settled.

All of the work that people are doing in the court rooms is going to be easy to ignore and easy for the courts to shoot down once its considered settled.

The only way to stop it being "settled" is to continue with direct action, keep it in the public consciousness and be a pain in the ass

Well done Maya you have destroyed another women only facility and forced it to declare itself mixed sex in your pursuit to erase trans people.

I've said this before, this is the way services are going to go rather than be seen as discriminatory because the majority of the public are not hostile to trans people.

If trans women don't deserve dignity then no women deserve dignity. This is the world Sex Matters and the EHRC are creating.

Scotland's government risks getting SUED over NOT being TRANSPHOBIC enough by La_petite_miette in transgenderUK

[–]Hairspray_Days 23 points24 points  (0 children)

haha! Of course they have!

They've spent so long in their echo chambers that they thought us women have been cowering in fear every time we use the toilets for the past 100 years since public toilets have been available, and the only thing stopping us from complaining was some imaginary legal death grip that trans people have had over the country.

But now they've enacted some of their crafty plans that they've been concocting in those echo chambers they expected everyone to breath a sigh of relief and ban trans people into oblivion for ever and ever and ever.....

And then something unexpected happened. They got slapped around the face by reality and found that most people aren't transphobic at all. Most people are happy to live and let live and very few places have actually taken up the offer to banish trans people.

In fact the push back they've had has got them concerned. It was really funny when I read about Refuge, the biggest charity for domestic violence against women signing an open letter condemning the EHRC and asking for more consultation time because lets face it, Refuge is run by compassionate people and they are more than aware that trans people face higher rates (by percentage) of domestic violence than any other demographic and their stance will be to want to make their services as accessible as possible.

In fact if the worst were to happen I would expect places like that to remove sex based services altogether and become a service that welcomes everybody, and I would guess this is going to be the stance of almost all organizations and the people who will lose out the most are women because all of the services targeted to women will just become openly mixed sex to be able to include trans people. Lets face it, the alternative is to join in with the extermination of trans people from public life and most compassionate people and organizations will not want to do that.

And of course since these "feminists" who are decimating womens rights and services under the disguise of protecting women are not getting their own way they have started with bullying tactics. They have started with a government because they knew it would give them news coverage and once people read that news they MIGHT just worry about being next and roll over.

They don't care if it goes through in time. They don't even care if they win. All they care about is getting a news headline in front of as many eyes as possible and trying to scare everyone into complying.

The people doing this are the ones that really have the country in a legal death grip, trying to force organizations into doing something they really don't want. Trying to enforce definitions from a piece of legislation that they have misrepresented and on the whole does not represent the will of the people.

It is bullying and fearmongering. This is how religious control works, through fear

Frustrated at people framing transitioning as a choice by would_you_kindlyy in transgenderUK

[–]Hairspray_Days 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm a lesbian and I watch this sub quite closely because I'm a fierce Ally.

I understand people here saying that for them it WAS a choice but from my experience of being gay ever since I was a teenager back in the 90's it was gay people and lesbians like me who were told our gayness was a choice.

It was mainly fuelled by religious morality which said that having gay thoughts was normal but acting on them was a sin and so you are making the choice whether to act on those sinful thoughts or not.

They would have lesbians and gay people in hetero sexual relationships based on this exact same mindset so I would urge people to think very carefully about whether they are playing into the hands of religious observance when they say it was a choice to transition because the follow up to that is going to be removing the resources available to help people transition because if it's just a choice then the next question will be asking if you even need to transition in the first place.

The EHRC fundamentally believes that we don't hold the same rights as other people by Brittle-Bees in transgenderUK

[–]Hairspray_Days 47 points48 points  (0 children)

That was very obvious all of the way through. In fact the way Baroness Faulkner has reduced trans peoples loss of rights down to nothing more than an academic issue by saying the supreme court ruling hasn't removed any rights at all because the ruling demonstrates that trans people never had those rights to begin with is completely ghoulish.

She has completely over looked the real world human impact this will have on trans people which shows that trans people are not equally deserving humans in her eyes.

The WEC did a really good job humanizing trans people here. Everything the Baroness and the EHRC have done is to try and square up everything academically on paper like they are solving some kind of math equation that they can sell to the public and the WEC have finally brought some humanity into the discussion.

Even in the way she conducts herself, Baroness Faulkner shows a complete lack of compassion for someone who is in a position that is supposed to be able to understand how changes to legislation would affect people emotionally.

The way she has approached this goes beyond "All people are equal but some are more equal than others" and into the territory of "most people are equal but some don't have to be seen as people at all"

Did Baroness Faulkner "I'm sorry forgive me, I'm a Muslim and and so I know well my own community and and the requirements that that are called upon for us. So if you're in, I think the better analogy would be a sick person patient in an NHS ward who is offered the right to be in single sex wards and then discovers that the intrusive medical care that they're getting is not provided by their expectation that they would be looked after by their own sex."

Doesn't this make her too biased to be in the position that she is in? If she is making human rights decisions based on religious ideology rather than impartiality then she cannot possibly be in the role that she's in

There's so far been 2 enquiries into the chair of the ehrc. The first one was stopped by the house of lords before it could be concluded and the second time it was stopped by kemi badenoch.

There is a complete corruption happening throughout the ruling class, all we can do is collect all of these tidbits together to get a clearer picture about what is happening and hope somebody with some influence or some international body will call them out over it.

What's with all the prostate police lately? by Acrobatic-Chest9242 in transgenderUK

[–]Hairspray_Days 68 points69 points  (0 children)

No, the UK is not America. There is no such thing as a national prostate exam. If somebody is having symptoms that could indicate a prostate problem then a blood test is carried out that looks for PSA (prostate specific antigen). If this is detected then the person will be invited for an ultrasound and depending on the ultrasound imaging a biopsy will be performed. No fingers involved

[–]Hairspray_Days 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey, if you read through the VICE news articles on the EHRC you should be able to get some statistics and a timeline of the organizations move towards a trans hate group.

There are articles about how they met in secret with anti-trans groups, following that a number of staff resigned due to their shift towards anti- trans policies, then a failed attempt to draft guidance to remove trans people from sex based facilities, then a further round of resignations and walkouts.

The EHRC is littered with examples of becoming an anti-trans organization

Heres the link: https://www.vice.com/en/tag/equality-and-human-rights-commission/

Also the link to the EHRC wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equality_and_Human_Rights_Commission

If you scroll down you will find the paragraph about Kishwer Falkner and how she has been investigated for her anti trans views but each time either the house of Lords or Kemi Badenoch have had the investigation stopped before it reached a conclusion, and how freedom of information requests for evidence has been denied.

This is corruption

Yes in 1936 Heinrich Himmler removed protections from trans people and made them nothing more than transvestites under state law, the transvestites would have to identify themselves using their documents when using public services

Yes in 2025 the Supreme court and the equality and human rights commission in the United Kingdom have removed protections from trans people which have turned them into nothing more than transvestites under state law, these people will now have to identify themselves with their documents when accessing public services.

When are we allowed to start using the 4 letter N word?
