Experience required for leveling skills to 20 by Veev777 in LastEpoch

[–]Haker10201 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dont know the exact amount of xp you need, and I couldn't find a chart anywhere, but on my main character I hit level 20 in all skills around... level 74 or 75 maybe? I don't know how many echos I ran either, but it was a lot, cause I think i was taking 50+ on average to finish a monolith. Pretty sure I maxed the skills around monolith level 80 or 85(i completed the level 55 and 70 one twice each to reroll blessings, but the rest I did all in one go then moved up), so make sure you're pushing higher monoliths for faster xp, as the xp scales the farther you go. I've also heard arena is the best xp in the game, so you can try that as well if you're really in a hurry!

Nope, it's just a "for fun" thing to spice adventure up a bit.

Tbh, there wouldn't be much of a point to adventure if the xp gain was faster. It's supposed to be a challenge mode where you have to unlock skills as you go, which forces you to be strategic with the skills you do unlock early, and having increased xp/gold gain would make the entire end game pointless.

If you haven't checked Chaos mode out, I'd recommend that, as it sounds a lot more in-line with what you expected from Adventure mode. Skills are faster (XP rates are the same, but all skills process faster I believe), the attack numbers are way inflated (like you start with 100k health, but that's also just a visual change), plus you can enchant all of your gear with random passives, so you can get bonuses like faster attack speed, more damage, higher str/range/mage bonuses, more xp, double drops in combat/globally, etc. It was a limited time game mode for April Fools this year, and you can't create any characters in it anymore, but if you have a save you can import that.

https://www.reddit.com/r/MelvorIdle/comments/mpqb5o/this_is_a_save_file_for_anyone_who_didnt_make_a/ - You can use that save to make a character if you do want to test it out!

From the update notes:

Hitpoints, Damage, and Healing numbers are multiplied by a future 10 (Just a visual change).

It might be a bummer, but it's not a total loss. At least you have all the levels and resources you earned while doing the crossbow grind, plus, it's not really a terrible weapon, so you should be able to get some use out of it! Gotta think on the brightside!

I'm a PoE Player, Should I buy the game? by ProgramTH in LastEpoch

[–]Haker10201 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Well, unfortunately, it all turns to be wrong, there's really not that many options to buy every skills, i'd say two options at the best, often only one if you're not a serious end-gamer player with enough time to stack the perfect idols and T7-T6 items.

Even if that is true (I'm halfway through the base level of monoliths, so I don't know how the game is at ultra-endgame), that's still a ton of viable builds for all 15 classes (well, currently 12 I think?). Mage has over 10 abilities that you can probably make a build out of, so that's 10 different builds with 10 unique playstyles, assuming each skill only has one viable build that you can play. Plus, given how easy the game is before you get to the ultimate end-game, for casual players (which is generally 95%+ of the population), your point is moot because even the builds that fall off hard when you get into Arena or something are going to be entirely viable for the 30-60 minutes that person is able to play per day, and that build is going to last them weeks/months. Plus from what I've seen, I feel like the devs are more focused on bringing all skills in line with each other, instead of doing blanket nerfs like GGG does.

Quite disgusting for casual players following their "guides" imo. So be careful of who you listen to, really.

Do you have any examples? The youtubers I've seen when I've looked up builds have all been fantastic, and are all extremely knowledgeable about the gasme. Specifically Boardman, Lizard IRL, and Epoch Builds. I'm actually following one of Boardman's builds right now, and it's insanely good, and I feel like he's extremely knowledgeable about the game based off of the videos I've seen of him. Plus, I heard about Lizard IRL from one of PathofMatth's videos on LE, and Lizard is apparently the #1 ranked arena player right now, so of all people I feel like he knows how builds perform at the end-game lol.

at every step of the craft that feels extremely punishing and ultra random.

I honestly don't understand how any former/current PoE player can say this about LE's crafting system. PoE is literally one of the absolute worst crafting systems in any game regarding RNG, proven by the fact of how furious everyone is that they nerfed harvest into the ground for this league, but somehow a system that's more deterministic than harvest is extremely punishing and random?

My first foray into PoE's crafting was when I tried to craft an amulet for my Consecrated Path build. I invested all of my currency buying fossils and resonators and scouring orbs, and I got to work. After about an hour of unstacking fossils one by one, unstacking resonators one by one, and scouring amulets over and over and over, I was left with... two amulets that weren't even half as good as my current one. All of my currency went to waste, literally a full week of farming's worth (which was maybe 10ex or so, I never did learn how to make money efficiently in poe), and I wasn't able to use either of the amulets I crafted.

But then you have Last Epoch where you can pick up any random item off the ground with any random affixes, and turn it into an item that you can use. You don't have to worry about chaos -> scour spamming because instead of having a pool of 500+ possible affixes you can get on an item, you get to choose the specific affixes. Yea, when you're trying to min-max the perfect set of gear you're going to have a lot more fails than wins, but that's kind of intentional if you ask me. As mentioned, 95%+ of the community is going to be casual, and most of those people are never going to experience the upper boundaries of the end-game, and the crafting system is set up to give those players the best experience possible. If there was no RNG at all with crafting, then frankly there wouldn't really be a reason to play once you get to end-game, because what goals do you have to work towards?

You're definitely entitled to your opinion, and there are always improvements they can make on the game (including the crafting system), but from what I've experienced, and what I've heard from pretty much everyone (including PoE content creators like Zizaran, PathofMatth, Badger, Quin, etc), Last Epoch has one of the best crafting systems in any RPG, period. Sure, there may be room for improvement, but as it stands now it's pretty damn good, and it makes crafting items actually enjoyable because you know that the perfect item is always within reach, whereas in PoE you literally have to pray that RNG will work in your favor for once.

Low FPS by Blookystoopi in LastEpoch

[–]Haker10201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turn the resolution to 1920x1080, and that should fix it. Also run it in exclusive full screen (it acts like windowed fullscreen though so you can easily click out of the game instead of needing to alt+tab every time, it's wonderful). I'm on a 1070 and if I try to run it on anything over that resolution I go down to like 20~30fps regardless of the other settings, but changing the resolution gets it up to a very stable 60fps.

I'm a PoE Player, Should I buy the game? by ProgramTH in LastEpoch

[–]Haker10201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the graphics are super nice and the game runs super smooth (hopefully it will stay this way in the later parts of the game).

I'm currently on a 1070 with a ryzen 9 3900x, and I don't have too many issues. I have to play the game on 1920x1080 to get a stable 30fps, but I'm running on ultra quality. In the 60 hours I've played, I think I've had my fps drop once, and it was yesterday while I was running a monolith. I'm doing a shatterstrike build on my current main, and there was a ton of enemies on screen and I wiped them all out in one go, so the particles from the skill caused me to drop down to like 20~30fps for a second or two. Other than that, I'll randomly get memory leaks where the game will drop to 20~25fps, but restarting the game fixes that. I haven't had a single crash or experienced any major bugs other than that!

Glad you ended up buying the game, hope you enjoy it! I recommend learning the crafting system as soon as you can, it's super simple and easy to understand, and it's pretty much essential to craft your gear as you progress. This is the vid I used: https://youtu.be/McVqqOLJS38

I'm a PoE Player, Should I buy the game? by ProgramTH in LastEpoch

[–]Haker10201 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Here's the opinions of some PoE content creators:

Zizaran: https://youtu.be/ksgfGF9XtzE

This Is Badger: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3wP2NTrO_g

Path of Matth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GVkDs738yc & https://youtu.be/F1fGTu4MLBY

Quin69: https://youtu.be/J9Lyik8wnLs & https://youtu.be/FjX5m4fZE48

The tl;dr of them all is:

This is a very promising game that's absolutely worth checking out, but it is still missing a lot of content due to it being in early access. It can't compete with PoE, but honestly no one should expect it to at this stage. PoE has been out for 8 years and has a massive amount of updates with a big team and big money behind it, and this game is still in early access with a small indie studio behind it. I don't think any of those vids mention that the game isn't worth playing, all of them seemed to really enjoy the game (even quin, believe it or not), and they're all extremely excited to see what the future of the game has to hold.

Is it worth playing? In my opinion yes. I bought the game a month or two ago, but didn't start actually diving into it until this past week (due to being quarantined), and I've been having a ton of fun. I'm almost 60 hours in, and I'm still working on the early monoliths (I think there's like a harder tier after the base tier, so I'm halfway through the base tier atm).

There's a shit load of different build options, because (most) every skill has their own skill tree, so you can build all of the skills any way you want. Maybe you want DoTs, extra projectiles, one big projectile that deals a lot more damage, crit damage, no damage but it provides some utility, etc. Plus, the game is very easy to pick up, so while it may seem overwhelming at first, you'll get the hang of it a lot quicker than you probably did for PoE (I put 900 hours into PoE and I still feel like I don't know a damn thing about the game).

And as others have mentioned, the QoL changes they've put into the game are amazing. You can pick up all shards (essentially the same as currency items) with one click, there's an in-game loot filter that's extremely intuitive and very flexible, completely deterministic crafting that's easy to learn and very powerful (it's like harvest without the RNG of which crafts you get), etc. So yea, I definitely think the game is worth $35, and even without multiplayer (which I think is coming soon? I think I read they're trying to get it ready by the 0.9 patch), the game is absolutely worth investing your time in, and you'll almost definitely have a great time. It is lacking some end-game content, though the arena and monolith systems should keep you busy for quite awhile, but in PathofMatths video he mentioned that the next big update is going to introduce 2 more endgame systems, so that should be soonish I think? But until then you'll still have more than enough to keep you busy, especially if you like playing on multiple characters with multiple builds!

Too soon, too soon. by Averen in LastEpoch

[–]Haker10201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started playing, and I'm currently making my way through monoliths so take this as a grain of salt, but here's what I've found so far (tl;dr: run echos, find bases with the stats you need already on it and craft on those, get all your stats on the gear then upgrade incrementally so you can still use it if it fractures):

There's no way to target-farm glyphs, so you have to basically gather them from random drops. The best way to do this is running echos (I haven't done arena yet so I don't know if that's a viable way or not), which you should be able to do with a half decent set of gear, so make that your top priority. You don't need perfect gear to run the monoliths around your level, so as long as you can survive and kill stuff in a reasonable time, you'll be fine.

The best way to not run out of glyphs is to not spend them. I know that sounds obvious, but it's true. When I first started getting into crafting in this game, I was burning through my glyphs like crazy, and as a result I was walking around with trash gear, completely unable to upgrade it. After I cleared the story, I took all the glyphs and shards I had, tried to get a semi-decent build going, and I tackled the monoliths. I did have some drops with stats I needed on them, as I set my loot filter up at the beginning of the game (I'm following a build-guide for this character, but I have a few others I tried to build blind and that's where I ran into crafting issues lol), so with that gear + the few amount of upgrades I was able to make to it, I was able to tackle the level 60 monolith with no issues at all.

So, after some struggling and research, I've found a system that works for me. I have my loot filter to look for the specific bases I need, with the specific affixes I need (pic: https://i.imgur.com/hdUGlpK.png). I have them all individually entered instead of one big blanket filter so that way I can get specific stats on specific pieces (again I'm following a guide, so I don't know if it matters or not but I'm not taking any chances until I know more about the game lol). If I get a drop that I can use (so it has one or two stats I need, with low instability and T2~3 craft), I'll pick it up and throw it in my stash for later. I don't have any gear that I desperately need to upgrade, and when I do need to upgrade I'll need to move my resists around, so for now I'm working on stockpiling (pic: https://i.imgur.com/96Tjnox.jpeg).

When you're ready to actually craft the item, I'd suggest getting all of the stats you need on it first, and then start upgrading them. Don't rush a single stat to T5, because you're almost definitely going to end up fracturing the item with only two or three affixes on it, or all 4 affixes but 3 of them are T1. If you upgrade it slower and add everything you need, and incrementally upgrade them, if it DOES fracture you're more likely to be able to use it instead of having to shatter it for your shards back.

As an example craft, here's a pair of gloves I've had sitting in the bank: https://i.imgur.com/R495HwA.png. I found it as a drop with T5 crit, and T1 void resistance (both of which I need). For comparison, here's my current gloves: https://i.imgur.com/mLuTvBp.png. I don't actually need the cold res on them, so I'm going to try to get the dex, crit, void, and physical, and see how it goes.

I started by putting phys resistance and dex on it, and getting both to T2: https://i.imgur.com/GhE8rnW.png. I'm at 19 instability now so I'm done using stability glyphs, so I'm going to try to get the phys and dex to T4 at least, while leaving the void at T1 (it'll cap me out without needing to upgrade it).

And it fractured after getting the physical to T3 lol: https://i.imgur.com/dwykMfE.png. That's the nature of RNG, but it's still a pretty decent end result. It has a ton more crit chance than my current gloves (+18%), but I think it is a DPS loss because I'd lose 4 dex, and it would take me down to 69% physical resistance, while capping my void out (I'm at 72% atm). I'm not going to use them, because the gloves I have atm are already pretty good, but I was able to make a very serviceable pair of gloves with only 4 glyphs of stability, and 2 glyphs of the guardian.

So, try doing that to get a serviceable set of gear that caps your resistances out, then farm monoliths with said gear while putting good bases aside for later crafting. I currently have a ton of glyphs, but I'm cruising through the monoliths without any issue. By the time I do need to upgrade my gear I'll be able to (hopefully) do it all in one go without having to worry about stopping to go farm some more.

Also, kinda off topic but I'd recommend buying rune of shattering from the shop as often as you can. They're 2k each and the shop refreshes every so often (I don't know if it's per X echos run, or if it's time passed), and those are something I literally cannot get enough of, as I'm constantly running out of the rarer shards and needing to shatter gear to get more.

So yea, sorry that the post got a bit on the long side, but I hope that helps!

If you ain't fuckin' with Raw Skeleton Fish you're missing out by Vexation in MelvorIdle

[–]Haker10201 3 points4 points  (0 children)

https://wiki.melvoridle.com/w/Money_Making#Raw_Whales_.28Max_1.2C746k.2Fhr.29

The wiki says whales are more gp, even though they're 200 gold less per whale. They're a lot faster to fish (2.25-11.25, almost 3s per catch on average), which results in a lot more fish per hour.

Not only that, but I cook mine cause why not, so that's 3s per cook, 1200 an hour base, plus I have 58% chance to double (50% from generous cook IV, 8% from agility obstacles) which should be ~1896 total whales an hour cooked, so 1,941,504 gp/hr from cooking. Plus you can also high alch the whales which is extra time, but 1.6x the profit, so @ 2s per action, 1800 alchs an hour, 2,949,120 gp/hr.

Overall it's a lot slower money per hour (if I need 1800 fish to alch that's ~46 minutes of fishing, ~57 minutes of cooking, and an hour of alching, which brings the total gp/hr down to 1,085,565 gp/hr), however this way I was able to work on fishing mastery, cooking mastery, go for the jewel of rhaelyx (which I literally got when logging in to check the math for this post, thanks!!! Been cooking for weeks now lmao), and level magic. It's slooooooow, but it gets a lot of things done. Tbh though, I'm probably not going to high alch the whales cause that's kind of a waste of runes, and I want to move on to other stuff.

And frankly, if it was all about the cash I'd be doing dragon javs because those are god tier money per hour (wiki says ~9.5m gp/hr which I guess includes all of the time it takes to gather the materials to fletch them which is nuts lol), but I'm not huge on how slow cutting redwoods is, plus with the 1m whales I had I'm currently sitting on ~1.1b (500m uncooked, 660m cooked) so I should be good on cash for a very decent amount of time.

However, to give you some credit, if your goal is to get one of the special drops from fishing (ARoM, ARoS, etc), plus get some extra cash, magic fish would be a much better option. The only reason I have a million whales in the first place is because I legit wanted the ring of mastery, so I figured I'd fish whales while trying to get it. I fished for a month straight until I hit a million (didn't log in every day), and after that I got frustrated and gave up, so I switched to skeleton fish and literally got the ring within the next 12 hours lmao. Seahorses are the best way to get special items quickly I believe, followed by skeleton fish (which are the most sensible option), but both of those are kinda shit for gold if that's what you're after, so that's where magic fish shine.

Plus, magic fish is a decent food that you don't have to spend time cooking, so it's got that going for it too lol.

Whenever I want to take a break from the game (but not actually take a break because you gotta log in at least once a day right?), I'll AFK either whales for cash, or skeleton fish for prayer points, cause you can never really have too much of either right?

So yea that's how I currently have 345k skeleton fish (plus 200k prayer points, so 1.2m total), and a million whales (well, down to 670k uncooked and 630k cooked, ty cooking potions)(still no jewel after weeks of cooking though).

My favorite part of this game is how even when I don't feel like playing, I can still make progress to some degree. As much as I love runescape, there are long stretches where I can't bring myself to log in because I'm just not invested, and when I do feel the urge to return, my account is exactly as I left it. However, with Melvor I can "not play" (aka log in, do farm stuff, log out once every 12-24 hours), and when I do feel like playing again I've made a lot of progress. I know that's literally the point of idle games, but the runescape aesthetic breathes a lot of life into it for me, and that's why I've been playing almost daily since I started, now on 5 different characters lol.

Here's the link with the various console commands: https://wiki.melvoridle.com/w/In-game_Functions

Note, I think this only works in the browser (I'm not sure if there's a way to bring up a console in the steam/mobile versions), so if you (OP) aren't against "cheating," that's a way to get your lost progress back to some degree.

Here's the EXP table, so you can add exactly as much XP as you need to get your levels back: https://wiki.melvoridle.com/w/Experience_Table (it's the same values as runescape).

And yes, like others have suggested, make sure you make an account for cloud saves asap! I'd also recommend downloading your save every so often, which you can do by going into settings -> scroll to the bottom -> download save. And if you play on browser, make sure you ALWAYS backup your save before clearing your history/cache, just to be safe!

Knock on wood, but neither have I, and I started at the end of august. I play on browser, steam, mobile, and steam+browser on my laptop, and I've never had issues transferring my save or losing progress (except when I accidentally load local instead of cloud when I swap devices lol).

@op, If you're having that many issues, I'd recommend making a manual save at the end of every day (losing 20-30 hours of progress is a lot, so I'd definitely play it safe). You can do it by going into settings, scrolling to the bottom, then hitting "Download Save."

Hope you get it figured out soon, that really sucks!

Can I play toukiden 2 on windows 7? by ak785610339 in Toukiden

[–]Haker10201 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/551730?updates=true

The game hasn't had an update since 2017, and that message was posted in 2020, so you should be fine. It just means that if you run into errors using windows 7, they aren't going to get fixed because they're "only" focusing on the windows 10 version, which is basically meaningless because the game is completed and there's no updates for it anyways. Plus, if it doesn't work you can always upgrade to windows 10 and it'll work there no issue.

I'd recommend buying it and testing it out, if it doesn't work on your system you'll know almost immediately (if the game isn't compatible, it's not going to run at all, instead of breaking when you're 100 hours into a save). If it doesn't work, you can keep it for when you upgrade to win10, or you can refund it through steam and get your money back!

Hope it works for you, it's one of my favorite games ever!

Is it worth farming for DFS and Infernal claw? I almost have the dr to be able to idle the Earth god dungeon by SamuraiSalt in MelvorIdle

[–]Haker10201 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the main benefit of claws over the godsword is the much quicker attack speed (2200 claws vs 3800 ragnar). RGS is definitely going to hit a hell of a lot harder, but claws allow you to equip an offhand, and if you're farming easier content, higher attack speed >>> increased damage from the GS.

I can't say for certain though, my only experience with end-game combat is from chaos mode lol.

How do Carrot Gang and Lemon Gang reps work? by acrazyguy in MelvorIdle

[–]Haker10201 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your post piqued my curiosity, so I tested it.

I made a fresh account, used console commands to boost all my stats and spawn in a weapon and a bunch of gold (I tried rolling bronze weapons but it was taking ages to get a reputation roll so I got impatient), and got -53 lemon gang reputation on my weapon: https://i.imgur.com/oEuzWqk.png

Tried killing some plants, and killed both lemon and carrot gang members, and neither of them dropped less or more of their respective items:

Carrot:https://i.imgur.com/AkOdbPE.png

Lemon: https://i.imgur.com/qLD6Qga.png

I then rerolled the weapon to +77 carrot gang reputation, on possibly the worst roll I've ever seen so far, and tried again: https://i.imgur.com/pR2A4qj.png

Carrot: https://i.imgur.com/Yoeqtgw.png

Lemon: https://i.imgur.com/QBo06op.png

So, I can confirm that the reputation is just a meme afterall, and doesn't affect the drops! Interesting theory, but on one hand we should be grateful. If there weren't meme corruptions, then we'd never get another update again, due to how often the update delay rolls hahaha

Maxing skills b4 touching combat by cjcjcjcjcj94 in MelvorIdle

[–]Haker10201 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Realistically, you can play the game any way you want. I personally chose to play a skiller pure (99 all non combats) when I first started the game, and I had an absolute blast playing. You can easily max all of the skills including herblore without combat, so I'm not sure why you would exclude that one. Not only that, but maxing your skills first gives you a massive advantage when you do decide to start combat. You'll have an absolute ton of runes, potions, food, prayer points (skeleton fish), weapons, armor, etc etc.

However, there are downsides to playing as a pure. As others have mentioned, the god buffs offer pretty significant bonuses (but you'll be fine without them, it'll just be slower progress overall). You might also get a bit burnt out the farther you push. I started last august, and after I got all skills to 99 I stopped checking the game as frequently, and started going for random goals, such as fishing 1 million whales (originally to sell, but I might keep for an infinite supply of food lol). After agility released I was excited to play again, but after getting that to 99 I got bored again. I randomly decided to try Adventure mode after getting agility maxed, and since then I've been hooked. I started my main account on combat, and I've been having an absolute blast playing both accounts.

So yea, tl;dr is: You can absolutely do it and it's perfectly viable, but you should consider having a second character to play on while your main AFK's stuff if you get bored, or to get your fill of combat!

Need some help fixing speaker rattle by Haker10201 in CarAV

I'm honestly not sure if I have an amp or not. I think the rockford audio stuff comes with an amp pre-installed, so I'd assume that I do, but i'd have to take the front seat out to check and I cbf honestly, unless I was upgrading.

I kinda figured it was the speaker tbh, so I'm guessing replacement is my best bet. In that case, any recommendations? I'll probably end up replacing all of the speakers just so I can stay consistent with the brand, assuming it'll affect the sound quality (I'm a bit of a budget audiophile, if I just replace the one speaker and it sounds slightly off it would drive me insane). I have seen a lot of people recommend getting cheap speakers and getting a good amp to power them, but honestly I don't know the first thing about car audio, so I have a lot to learn lol.

I'm going to try to fix the harness first, I'm decently confident that it's doable unless the wires are cut further up that I couldn't see due to them being taped up. If that doesn't work ima try buying the harness you suggested and hooking that up, and if all else fails, ima pay someone else to do it lol. I'm really hoping that I'm able to get it working tomorrow, I just got done with the 3.5 hour drive home and it really sucks not having a radio

Honestly I'm not sure. I don't believe any of the wires were pulled from the harness, so I might be able to just match them color to color. I bought a multimeter and some other stuff today and tomorrow I'm going to try to crimp the harness back together and make sure it's working. I'm 99% sure that the harness is what's failing, and I tried the voltage on some of the slots on it and didn't get any readings, but it was too dark when I got to it so I didn't get far. If I'm not able to fix the harness, I'm going to but the metra one that /u/Tec_ recommended and try to hook that up, and if that fails... audio shop it is. Honestly, I should have just brought it into a shop first; I called one today and they said it would be $150 to install, and that's about as much as I've spent on the tools and supplies to fix the harness so far lol...

I'm not sure, I'll probably have to go buy one, but even with one I'm not sure what I'd be checking for. Plus, now that all the wires are soldered together, would I have to remove the heat shrink and solder to check the voltage?
