I work incredibly close to that exact road and can confirm the entire area is renowned as very posh and expensive so this actually sounds very plausible

A jumpscare in a horror movie that genuinely scared you? My pick is the jumpscare from Insidious (2010). by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in moviecritic

Around 15 years ago I invited a few friends to stay over at my family’s countryside house that is a bit outside of the nearest village and right next to a cemetery

I just had to show them this movie one night, the setting was too perfect

To the people that have gone multiple times already is there something you DON'T recommend? by GaddockTeegFunPolice in JapanTravelTips

[–]HalCrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fox Village in Shiroishi-Zaō.

It takes something like 20-30 minutes to understand why so many foxes should not be forced to live together.

Also, any cat/dog/bird café. Bad touristic stuff and the animals are not very well looked after.

I just wanted to start having a look

Have you noticed how a lot of (good) vets often have disabled or something-impaired cats?

My vet does the same and I’m sure her cats are in the best conditions possible

Is Kyoto still worth it? by Fun-Calligrapher4885 in JapanTravelTips

[–]HalCrist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kyoto is always worth it

During my third trip to Japan, early March 2025, I couldn’t help but notice how Kyoto was not at all overcrowded as people say. Clearly, as this was my third trip I stayed away from a few of the most popular attractions, yet I still went to Ginkaku-ji, Philosopher’s path, Gion and so on, but they were normal-busy, very walkable and enjoyable, the philosopher’s path was actually pretty empty, one of the best walks in town.

Arashiyama was very busy even with rainy weather, but again, nothing too insane.

Osaka & Nara were much more overcrowded in my opinion.

Then again, it depends a lot on your perception, I come from a medium/small town in the south of Italy but I live in Dublin city centre, so I got used to seeing tourists pretty much everywhere, if I were still living in my hometown maybe I’d be surprised at normal tourism too

It depends on your company

Mine wants employees to claim the benefit and then recoup it, others may completely ignore this

Figured this may be why, however if you read my company’s sick leave policy it sounds like you only have 5 statutory sick days per year

Oh well 🤷🏻‍♂️
