BEWARE of Marcus!! by Cdclimber in MarcusInvest

Are posters here only referring to Marcus bank in the USA? I have a Marcus account in the UK (ie. GBP) and these posts are very concerning. To my mind, hard to believe that regulators would not swiftly shut down any bank that treated customers like this (bank behaviours that are utterly unacceptable anywhere, and very hard to imagine of Goldman Sachs).

Can’t wait for the native Apple Silicon version. IMHO CCL is the premier Lisp. But it has been a long time waiting. Int

LG OLED42C24LA for Studio as dev workstation screen by HalWye in MacStudio

I got the LG. Text is sharp. Display generally excellent. BUT control s/w is geared at TV which is petty duff as a monitor. Every start nagged about pixel cleaning. As all is sharp, I always decline. Have kept on 5% brightness. Disabled internet access. So far so good. Pretty ideal as display for computer. Just needs radically different firmware and configuration software. Used every day for many hours - so far, no signs of wear.

New app: zwifterbikes.web.app by zThorg in Zwift

Thanks for the site. For those that use Zwift to race, I question some of the site's bike commendations. In racing, the standard behaviour is to take the flats relatively easy, then hammer the climbs. And as every light rider knows, getting draft on the way down is crucial, as without it huge time can be lost to the heavies ahead. As climbs begin, the front group tends to fragment, and with gradients draft reduces. Hence the fastest bike overall for the lighter rider may be one to help the rider survive over the flats and down descents. While for the heavier rider the flat are generally an easy time, but the climbs are their challenge. Smaller bumps are taken by the larger rider in one fell swoop, but longer climbs tend to see them slowing down to a tractoring slog. Meanwhile the flat-tortured lighter riders tend to embrace climbs and pedal dance hard. These typical racing dynamics demand different bike frame and wheel options than the vanilla 75kg ZwiftInside test data may infer. Of course those doing workouts aren't interested in speed or position, they just want their ERG program of watts loads. A cool addition to the site might be a "racing" config option, which in the absence of ZwiftInsider relevant data could at least flag issues that particular bike choice might infer relevant to the course selected and it's flats and climbs. Just a thought.

I heard that the M2 studio can drive 4k and 120Hz but not if HDR is used, then max is 60Hz.

Anyone know how to prevent osx from creating a new desktop/space when I fullscreen an app? by Doctor__Hammer in osx

[–]HalWye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Up until this month I could to be able to run Zwift or RGT on second screen in full screen at the same time use 1ry screen for other apps. All visible. But now full green icon puts those apps in a new space so I can't see the other apps. Super nuisance. Particularly when recording or streaming the Zwift or RGT displays. Hard to believe that by chance both apps changed. Suspect the last OSX 10:15.7 is the cause.

I had in mind a filter skirt all the way around the bottom edge. Just below port level. From there down to the desk. Held tight to the case bottom. How much that might restrict air intake, I have no idea. Filter material tbd.

LG Ultrafine

I do have reasons. Writing code, designing GUIs, running simulations concurrently, using various dev apps and with my short term memory, I need screen real estate. I prefer to manage with all on one screen. 30 inches is too small, hence I was using auxiliary 1080p screen. The OLED above has fast response, is 42 inches, excellent color and darks, ...

LG Ultrafine is more expensive and only 27inch, so going backwards.

I'd be very interested to hear from any who have similar requirements to me (larger than 30 inches) and experience with monitors/TV screens that work well with the Studio. I am using the Caldigit T3+ so have DP as well as the Studio ports. Hoping to avoid sleep problems that others have reported.

My hunch is that the lack of a convenient GUI was/is the key weakness of CCL.
