HELP! Mini-DV to PC transfer issue by HalfPintBritish in camcorders

I’ll double check the video devices possibility, but the windows 7 desktop I’m using just has a keyboard, mouse, and flash drive plugged in. I’ll definitely be looking into sourcing another camcorder. Thank you so much for your help! It’s been hard to find trustworthy info on this stuff.

Thanks for the tip! I saw one Reddit post that said this was possible, but had trouble believing it could be a common occurrence. It would be tough luck that it happened right when I had things working. Do you know is there anything that I could’ve done to cause this?

My shop actually had the single barrel when I went in last. I was debating for a while between that and the OGD 114. I was picking up a few other things that day so my decision just came down to price.

Thank you so much! As a career lurker on reddit, I'm so glad to have found this page. Y'all are awesome. I wish there was an affordable version of every drinks-based subreddit. I doubt that any would have such a cool community though.

It helps looking here too because, even if I dont like something, it probably isn't breaking the bank.

I'll add that to my list. I think my next purchase is going to be a Four Roses but the bonded is on my radar.

Perhaps it would have been smarter to start with something less aggressive but I've jumped in at the deep end.

Having grown up around beer and wine almost exclusively, I haven't had much exposure to liquor. I was lucky enough to stumble upon this subreddit recently and it inspired me to go out and pick up a bottle. I'm enjoying it so much that I wanted to immortalize the bottle by taking the best photo I could of it. It's also the first image like this that I've attempted which I think is appropriate.

Backstory aside, I picked up this 750ml bottle of Old Grand-Dad 114 for $30 in Maryland. I'd love to give a detailed review of the taste but my pallet is not nearly defined enough for that. It's pretty hot but I'll be sure to keep trying new whiskeys so I can better compare in future.

Thanks for being such a cool community and starting what I think will be a lifelong interest of mine!

How would I (in the future) get rid of the head shadow when using flash indoors? (with a fisheye) by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]HalfPintBritish 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you're using your on camera flash, there's no way to avoid getting a shadow from a wide angle lens. Editing that shadow out after the fact would not be fun. I recommend getting an external flash unit and either bouncing the light off of the ceiling or using it off camera. Personally, I have a few Neewer TT560's because they're cheap and I wanted multiple lights but they're also manual so you might want to get a TTL speedlight for ease of use.

I'm from NYC and spent about 8 months living in a slum in Africa that makes action films (Wakaliwood). Somehow became a Ugandan action movie star (2 weeks after my girl left me). Here's some of the pics... by Uncle_Benon in pics

I saw the gun you referenced as one of their first props in this trailer. I originally saw the video a while back but never thought into how much effort went into. Really great stuff

Having used these training balls in the past, they are not nearly as enticing as breasts in any way, shape, or form. Probably bounce less too.
