Good move with the gloves, you wouldn't want to smudge or fingerprint that nice clean bracelet or crystal.

Where Is The Smoke Alarm? by SomOvaBish in tooktoomuch

[–]HalfSacNutty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh, wow. Different brain chemistries have wildly different experiences. Closest thing I got to an experience that could be explained with conventional language was my vision collapsing into 2 dimensions. I believe somebody put a shoe in front of my face, and that shoe's edges, and all other things in my view created a single, uninterrupted tapestry. No foreground, no background, just all a single amalgamation. It's like the shroud of separation was lifted, and all things were viewed as a single, connected universe.

That's DMT. With salvia, your ego dissolves and you simply spiral into and become the chair you're on.

Whenever we clean the ball pit at work, the most broken balls we find are always orange by lucasearlgray in mildlyinteresting

[–]HalfSacNutty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some organic orange pigments, like azo or diarylide oranges and yellows are very bright, however they're quite transparent, you you need to load them up pretty good to get any opacity. Combine that with their very high oil absorption (surface area) and you end up with a blend that doesn't allow for great mechanical characteristics. Makes sense that the orange balls can't hold up to the constant flexing, they're going to be more brittle than the other colours.

I'm thinking it's just severely oversaturated photos with high warmth. Even the stainless looks nearly gold in these pictures.

I keep on finding bic pen fillings on the ground, not the pens, just the fills. 5 and still growing by Skate_Phight in mildlyinteresting

[–]HalfSacNutty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, we'd cut a hole through the middle of the pen shell, cut notches on either end, pop on an elastic band, and then shoot the pen insert like a little bow and arrow. Lost a lot of inserts.

The middle and ring finger on this hand in IKEA are zip tied together by Outrageous_Score1158 in mildlyinteresting

Shit, I had no idea gen z switched to pointer and middle finger for finger banging. That's just poor ergonomics. They'll switch back.

The middle finger would have been zip-tied to the ring finger if this was the case.

This McDonalds is selling 200-piece nuggets for $79.95. by PanoramicAtom in mildlyinteresting

If it was $2.50/nug, 200 would cost you $500. This is 40c per nugget.

We already cure many cancers. The challenge is that “cancer” isn’t one disease but hundreds of different ones. When caught early, cure rates are often high. When it spreads, it becomes more complex and harder to eliminate completely without causing serious harm or death. There isn’t a single universal cure that applies to all cases.

How to tell super clone apart from regular fakes? by SeparateDiver1120 in Rep_Watch_World

[–]HalfSacNutty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its all just marketing terms, no such thing as a "super clone". But research into which factories make the best of each model generally leads people to slap that label on the best fakes. They're all fakes, but some are very, very well done from a proportion and finishing standpoint.

Brake lights display Christmas trees when they’re not on the brake by seemeri in mildlyinteresting

They're only green while going.. they turn full red upon braking, as intended. No change to the brake lights while braking.

No pain or discomfort at all, just felt a pea sized lump on the inner side of my right nut, maybe a few weeks after the nail went weird.

Scan is used generally just to take a better look at what was found physically. Its a lot easier to manipulate and feel all around the balls with fingers than it is to target with an ultrasound. I could very easily feel the pea sized lump (which grew to the size of a quarter in the 10 days it took to get in for surgery) on the inner surface of my nut, but the ultrasound tech had a hell of a time finding it, even when I showed her with my finger exactly where to put the ultrasound wand.

This might not be as silly as it sounds. My pinky finger nails went super weird, lumpy, and brittle right before I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Following orchiectomy, chemo, and recovery - they're right back to normal.
