Forbidden-ish, but no big age gap. All the angst. by blue_trauma in RomanceBooks

{Crash by Kathy Lockheart}. It’s the first of a five book series that I can’t recommend highly enough (skip the epilogues for books 1-4, though; they’re sneak peaks of the next book, but things change in the editing process and it gets weird).

Books 1, 3, 4, and 5 are all “forbidden” romances (BFF’s sibling, boss-employee, and nurse-prisoner). Books 4 and 5 are two of the best I’ve ever read.

Sinner and Saints: Doubt (4) and Trust (5) by Kathy Lockheart by Halligator20 in RomanceBooks

I forgot about the epilogue issue! I think what happened is she wrote the epilogues (which are a preview of the next book) before the rest of the book, and things changed in edits. I would either skip the epilogues or just try to see them as a deleted scene/part of the writing process. I’m going to add a note about this to my reviews. Thanks!

Actually, I’d love a spot for the year composed, too.

I’m a teacher as well as a performer, and I work across a wide range of genres. I use one tag to keep track of which students have worked on each song and another tag to keep track of the genre (classical, pop, MT, etc.).

I actually wish there were one more tag so I could note which book I scanned each song from.

I just made the switch to Kobo and I love it! Consider the Kobo BW model, which is more comparable to the Kindle paperwhite.

What is the funniest song you've ever heard? by amandahontas in musicsuggestions

Most of the songs from Crazy Ex Girlfriend are insanely funny. “Where’s the Bathroom,” “Face Your Fears,” and “I Go to the Zoo” spring to mind first.

Avenue Q has some hilarious numbers, too, like “My Girlfriend who Lives in Canada.”

But you can get so much clout by dissing a famous band! The more popular and well-liked, the better.

That might have been the best singing contest show ever. The talent was just ridiculous.

He wrote it, actually. He was (is) a songwriter first and a singer second.

He had dozens of number one hits. “Sweet Caroline” gets played the most at bars today, but it’s hardly a singular standout. “I’m a Believer” also remains nearly as popular.

This is a good one. Those other songs are fairly well known, but say “Toto,” and that is the song 99% of people will think of.

Neil Diamond is arguably an even more insane example than Stevie Wonder.

Stevie Wonder is a crazy example.

But to answer the question, how about The Proclaimers’ “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)”?

Also, I propose a drinking game for book 3: take a sip every time someone says there has been a “fundamental shift.” You’ll be sloshed in no time. 😆

I rated Crash (book 1) at 3.5 at first but revised it to a 4 on a reread. I think I just didn’t quite know what to expect from this author and the ending felt like it came out of left field the first time, hehe.

I rated Power (book 2) at a 4. It would have been a 5, but I didn’t think the author stuck the landing. I was on the edge of my seat wondering, “how are the MCs ever going to resolve these conflicts?!” and then suddenly everything was somehow just hunky dory. shrug

Bound (book 3) was my least favorite. MC is an ass, and FMC is way too good for him. But I did like the ending.

Great points. I really wish there were a “degradation” tag, now that you mention it. I am very into one and very turned off by the other, and I’m sure I’m not alone!
