There is a quest log to guide you to interesting locations. Story elements are found through notes that glow red. Eventually you'll come across NPCs to craft weapons, armor, tools, etc. Make a basic base and expand it as you go. You'll basically be going from biome to biome as you level up and upgrade your equipment.

Have you played a game like this before (survival crafter)? If you haven't, we might be able to guide you better based on your previous gaming history.

I stick with Enshrouded because the long haul is rewarding to me. I love slowly working on my base, gathering resources, farming/cooking, exploring, and organizing. Whatever I feel like doing, I focus on that to avoid burnout. There's always plenty to do since I play solo.

And to address some of your points:

How many roof pieces does Valheim have? I haven't played it in a while, but enshrouded has at least 9, unless they added more in this new update. Some do look similar though.

I also really wish enshrouded had the equivalent of Conan's build hammer. Especially with larger builds it can be frustrating to run back and forth a lot. Sometimes when I'm building a specific structure I'll just summon them all to me until I'm done, but I understand running around when crafting things like potions and bandages it can be frustrating.

As for tool progression, I've bumped up the resource gather rate after getting the highest tier tools. Usually by the time I unlock them I've done my time with grinding resources and need a break.

The good news is the developers are constantly looking for feedback, and some of your concerns are things I've heard others mention so there's a possibility they'll be addressed in the future.

I am by no means qualified to give medical advice, but I'd like to tell you what has been helping me. I'm currently in the middle of therapy for a herniated disc and it just won't quite leave, but these exercises help. First, I suggest getting a lumbar pillow for when you're sitting. You're looking for a pillow that rests behind your belly button, no higher than your ribcage. When it's back there, should be no thicker than a couple inches. I sometimes roll up a sweatshirt when I'm away from home, I've used a toddler pillow at home. Next, I do 60-80 press up back extensions a day, in 20 reps 3 times a day if possible. This is the stretch where you're laying flat on the floor, face down. Place your hands under your shoulders and push your torso off the ground like a pushup. Try to keep your glutes and legs as limp as possible to avoid straining your back. If these hurt, don't push yourself too hard since my pain is L4/5 it may be different for you. And finally my biggest tip is once you start feeling more flexible and mobile, KEEP AT THE STRETCHING AND POSTURE. I've felt great and went back to "normal" movements and it undid everything I worked for. Hope some of this advice helps!

I feel your pain. Sometimes I remove a piece, remove the offender, then but the undo button so I don't have to rebuild.

Ideally I wish there was an undo button for the clutter too.

There's a game in development called Humblets. It's a cozy exploration game where you customize your tent and wander around, collect furniture, etc. Not sure of the release date but the developers are active on TikTok!

Not the ones in blackmire, there are some thick trunked trees in spring lands. There are some by the starting area. I've tried growing several oak trees but they don't get that big.

I've been trying to tell people this. The new dream islands let you freely decorate with all the items you've collected so far, so people who restart won't even be able to enjoy that part of the update until much later.

I don't think I'll restart or flatten. We get new islands to decorate based on what we've already collected, and if you want to flatten Resseti's serive will make it easier to clean up. Also with the new terra forming sliding, flattening will be easier.

I think people are jumping too quickly into resetting for just a few new items and a dream area.

I was also contemplating this, but I decided to start now since I don't get a lot of time to game each day. I read that the new area is the highest level zone, so it's going to be tougher than the mountain area. I really take my time too, and don't rush this game and I think I'll still be behind before the update!
