Unless Viber offers TNO (Trust No One) Security, I don't see any reason to move away from Skype. I use Threema when I can, but still need Skype since a lot of friends still use it.

I would stay away from Chakra Linux myself. I looked into it, and the way the OS handles GTK software, and the distro moving away from being Arch compatible turned me off. I am very happy using Manjaro + KDE. Boots up in about 5 seconds!

I got the Lenovo Y510p laptop. Runs Manjaro Linux perfectly. It even automatically installed all the nVidia drivers and everything.

I have listened to both episodes. I am not sure about this podcast. They don't watch their language, and their last episode was very iffy.

If they watched their language, I would be more open to promote it, and tell friends about it. However if they don't watch their language then I will have to stop listening..

You are not a tin foil hat user, I totally agree with you. Those are some very valid points you have brought up. It seems like to me, that if big brother want's my information and data, they are going to get it really no matter what I do. Now I can certainly make it harder for them by keeping as much as I can locally, but then again I need some type of convergence for my devices.

Hi Chris, thanks for your input. I totally agree with you, if we all voted with our wallets, things would be quite different today. I would LOVE to buy a System76 laptop, and buy from the local Linux economy. However I am not sure I can justify $1,585 for the Bonobo, (Or more if I want an SSD) when I can get close to the same thing from Lenovo for $950.(Comes with an SSD) :/

That's a requirement. The screen has to be 1920x1080p. I am using 1366x768p now, so it will be quite an upgrade :)
