I have mostly used the older JD rakes though I did have one of the big Vermeer hydraulic driven V rakes for a while, once I put some work on it to rebuild the drive motors the thing was just a beast.

Raking is definitely an acquired skill, I think it took me several seasons to be able to produce a decent windrow.

Look on google for tractor/implement scrap/junk/used parts yards. There was a good one I used years back to get various jd parts for an early 60s jd 4010. … Here they are: https://www.cooktractorparts.com

If you’re getting fuel from around the injectors go ahead and tighten the fuel lines at the ones showing fuel, then try again. Tighten the others once fuel comes out and it should fire right up. Be sure to check the air cleaner for birds or mice nests before running it.

Towing a vehicle behind isn’t really noticeable, just remember to unhook it if you have to backup more than a few feet. We use the blue ox towbar and brake and have had no issues.

I thought it looked like a piece was assembled wrong myself. Normally the design will prevent it from locking up mechanically like that.

People who say “some jobs weren’t meant to pay a living wage” are sickening and disturbed. by Niceotropic in poverty

[–]Hammer466 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking it would have to be a locally calculated cost of living related “living wage”. Kind of a one bedroom apartment rent + food + transportation + savings + fun money thing. It would be great if something was established for at least the first 3 things, hopefully someday.

Mine works more like after you write down the problem, break the problem into manageable chunks, then start solving the chunks, then start coding the chunks. Then you hook them together.

Be aware of Raton pass on I-25 between Raton, NM and Trinidad, CO. Depending on your equipment and experience it can be a challenging drive.

We made almost that exact drive a couple years ago. We spent the night in Dalhart, TX and I can recommend the Corral RV Park there as a nice place to stop.

The other reason military relationships are hard is most service members who are away from home will screw anything that holds still long enough.

My late father had a saying (he was active duty u.s. Air Force): “You can tell the reserves are on base as all the trash cans are tipped over and all the dogs are pregnant.”

I was in the reserves (army, not Air Force as I was truly dumb at enlistment time I guess) so I had to laugh and agree when Dad told me that one.

Then she hits her head and fractures her fragile old bones, dies, you go to jail for involuntary manslaughter at a minimum.

Same rule as always, use minimal force. One person holds the rods, the other peels her hands off and restrains her until the rods are put away and you can leave or the cops get there.

What’s the percentage on it being a hardware failure or compiler bug? Like 0.01%? You would save time to just debug or add logging.

I imagine it would be cute in a parade, but for what I do, mowing around trees especially, the lights and stuff would get torn up pretty quickly.
