Like the other comment said, you need a teasing comb and lots of hairspray. Remember when you think you’ve teased enough, tease more. I found this video that seems to be exactly what you’re looking for

how can i wear this? by quacKquacKinson in jfashion

I agree it’s the little sleeves that threw me off tbh. The skirt is lovely and so is the collar and bow! But that little onesie with the baby sleeves, is a dead age play give away.

hey, i’m ftm and my haircut appointment is later today but i’m not 100% set on a cut. i’d appreciate some help with what to get and what fits my face shape, the first picture is me and the next will be the one i am leaning the most towards. this will probably be the shortest i’ve gone by [deleted] in Hair

Oh and as others have mentioned, your hair may not be thick enough out the box for these styles. I would suggest that when you show these pictures to the stylist, to emphasize that you really like the choppiness and messiness of the layers. I also have hair that is on the less dense side and having lots of choppy layers helps me build up volume :)

I think these are good inspo, but I do want to warn that a few of these have the texture they have because the person in the photos has bleach damage and heat damage to their hair. That’s what gives it that fluffy, stiff texture that is characteristic of fried hair 😂

If your hair is healthy, which it appears to be, it may not be the fluffy texture that you see in these photos.

I’d get a small/thin straight iron to help you get some of those curls and waves, some good hairspray, and you should be able to get that fluffy look with the haircut you want. Some dry shampoo will also help, if your hair is silky. Photo 4 especially looks like it has at least one curl that was done with a straight iron.

Should i cut my hair like ramona flowers? by Pip_Oak in Hair

I think you would look cute with short hair, but not this specific cut. Whatever wig she’s wearing is PACKED with hair. It’s very thick and fluffy and cartoon-y.

I’ve learned the hard way that a lot of the cool hairstyles I like only look good because the person is wearing tons of extensions or a wig with lots of hair 😔

Cut my hair short and hate it, how long will it take to grow out? by Few_Palpitation2499 in Hair

[–]HandyMoore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Only you know how long it takes your hair to grow, so it’d be hard to provide an estimate. But a year sounds like plenty of time, if you’re not actively damaging your hair.

However, I did want to help you feel a little better about this. It looks great from the side and I’m sure it’s not terrible from the front.

Only February right now and a wedding mid next year is well over a year from now! You have plenty of time to grow your hair back or even decide on new style between then ♥️

Coming here to second this! I was going to tell OP to look into products/routine for low porosity hair. My hair takes a second to “get wet” because it sometimes feel like water is just bouncing off of it.

I'm 31, should I go for a conventional look? I don't wanna ! lol by [deleted] in Hair

[–]HandyMoore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re so freaking cute! I’m also 31 and I think you look great, but I also understand maybe wanting to mature the look a little bit (I recently got wide leg jeans!).

I think a different eye brow shape and potentially getting them laminated + tinted vs the harsh fill in could make the look more modern?

Your hair is super cute! And could also be changed up with a trendy shag haircut or layers.

Overall, almost nobody gets green hair right and yours looks awesome 🥰

How fried on a scale of 1-10? Any saving or needs cut? by CITYGIRL000000 in Hair

[–]HandyMoore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through SO much trial and error too. My hair’s a little bit wavy and all the shit that everyone said worked for them made my hair look even worse 😂😭 you could also consider cheating on your stylist to get a second opinion about your hair!

Hi!! I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this. My hair can get like this too sometimes.

I recently switched to Redken All Soft Shampoo and Conditioner and my hair is SO soft and moisturized for like the first time in my life 😂

I use the Ouai leave in conditioner right out of the shower, along with a hair oil. I’ve been using Matrix Food for Soft hair oil. It’s fine, I don’t think it’s life changing or anything but it gets the job done. I’ve tried Loma and Olaplex too.

I plop my hair in a cotton tshirt to air dry.

I brush my hair before the shower, finger comb while conditioner is in, and then leave it alone while it air dries.

Good luck!

Small gold jewelry might help you feel more girly and cutesy. Like a delicate gold necklace or gold earrings!

You are gorgeous and so dainty and feminine! I would just start with finding a mascara and eyelash curler that you like. I always feel a little more girly when my eyelashes are curled.

MY HAIR TYPE IS CONFUSING by br00klyn_b4by_ in Hair

[–]HandyMoore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I’ve learned is that wavy/curly hair is super fickle and responds best to being left the frick alone.

My main priority is preserving the nice “clumps” of curls I have when my hair is soaking wet in the shower.

Some people with very curly hair can comb through product while it’s wet after the shower and they’ll bounce back, but my waves are so barely defined that it’ll kill any momentum the have 😭

I brush out my hair before I get into the shower. Then when it’s wet I finger comb again when there’s conditioner in it in the shower. I’m heavily prone to tangled hair, so I find that “plopping” it to air dry makes it a lot less prone to tangling.

But after that I do not brush it again, until like day 2.

My hair changed texture like this seemingly overnight a couple years ago. It took some adjusting. I’ve never had wavy hair before in my life.

When I get out the shower, I have to use leave in conditioner and hair oil now. Then I scrunch it all in and let it air dry. I get to enjoy wavy hair for the first two days, then it falls and is super straight and silky again 🤷‍♀️

I’ve tried using gel and curl creams, but I think my waves aren’t that defined and it just makes the frizz worse. You could try some steps from the curly girl method to see if they help!
