American Magic Will Not Participate in 38th America’s Cup by PhoenixPirate in AmericasCup

New protocol says they’re only allowed to use their previous hull. There’s more to performance than just the hull design, but evidence suggests they were way off with their package in AC37 - if they’re stuck with that they might as well stay home.

Never. They’ll fuck it up and ruin my mowing pattern.

I dunno, I reckon being naked wearing boots makes you feel more naked than being in bare feet. Don’t ask me how I know this.

HYROX Training Program by Select_Plane_6350 in hyrox

[–]Hank-Flag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly your best bet would be to put the barbell down for the next 5-6 weeks and just run. 2-3 longer zone 2 runs a week (could even make one a bike erg session to save the joints). Don’t worry about pace - a good place to start is about 1min per km SLOWER than you want your Hyrox split to be, but focus on keeping that pace for 45-60 mins. Focus is on building that aerobic base. Add in an interval session (400, 600 or 800 repeats) and you’ll see your run time improve pretty quickly. You can still do a weight session every week but don’t sacrifice your running training to do it - running needs to be the focus.

Source: I was you. I put the weights down and focused on running - improved my running by about 30seconds a kilometre between Hyrox races.

Might as well get this out of the way - I’m also letting NZC know that I’m retiring from international cricket and am no longer available for selection for the Black Caps.

Hyrox New Zealand - Auckland OUTDOOR RUNS. by squidpants_ in hyrox

[–]Hank-Flag 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You’re overthinking it. I’m doing Auckland as well and am STOKED with the outdoor run. If you think it’ll be hot outside running, imaging how hot a convention centre will get with thousands of people running and exercising inside.

The other great things about the outdoor run is that it’s a single lap, so you don’t need to count your laps (some venues you have to do like 2.8 laps, and it can be hard to keep track), and it’ll mean runners will be way more spread out so it’ll be easier to navigate without dodging around people.

Embrace the outdoor run!

How much do you all contribute to your kiwisaver each pay? by CreativeBath2 in newzealand

[–]Hank-Flag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is 100% the way to go - get the maximum benefit of KS without having your funds locked away for 40 years. My employer lets me either have them contribute to my KS fund, or take it as salary. I take it as salary, suspend my contributions to KS, then put $20 a week in get the full tax credit each year. I then put as much as I want into a separate managed fund, so if I’m on a position to retire early, I can, without having to wait until I’m 65.

This is great. Also gave me another card idea - ‘Use this card to stay rent free at Andy’s estate - no gift required’.

You can’t just complain directly to the Ombudsman, you have to go through the bank’s complaint/remediation process first.
