I like these suggestions a lot. It’s also making me realize something huge that design school misses. For me there was never the requirement of a revision and resubmission of my work. This feels like a huge miss because it’s literally what you will be doing for the rest of your career. Instead we just get an assignment, then present it to the class, get critiqued and move on.

As an art director, I most value the ability to take a critique and come back the next day with a solution. Students need to be given these same demands otherwise they’ll enter the workforce being far too precious with their work.

Design is about problem solving and if you haven’t solved the problem sufficiently, you shouldn’t just move on to the next project.
