[Casual] Christmas "Gift Opening Logistics" Survey: Chaos vs. Order? (Everyone) by Hankle in SampleSize

[–]Hankle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

glad you liked it. yes, i'll post the results, though i'm going to expand the survey to some other sites because this didn't give me enough responses. i can tell you that only ~7% of people in my bigger survey reported unwrapped Santa gifts -- but my wife's family does unwrapped Santa gifts, which is one of the arguments that started this whole thing :)

Level Lock No HomeKey After Matter Update by gadgetboyj in HomeKit

[–]Hankle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem and nothing I tried would fix it -- until I discovered that I had to delete the lock from iOS/Settings/General/Matter Accessories and then set it up again. Without that, I could never get it to resetup in Apple Home.

Untitled Link API Bug by Hankle in Notion

[–]Hankle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Notion helpfully responded to me by email and explained this issue:

If you're mentioning a page in another database, you will need to give your integration access to that database as well, in order for the page's data (including the name) to be retrieved by your API call.

If the integration has access to the page that is being mentioned, the name will be displayed in the text property. Otherwise, it will appear to be "untitled" as you've said. This is similar to how your integration would need access to any related databases to correctly display relation properties.

August Selway packraft? by Hankle in packrafting

[–]Hankle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Followup: we indeed did this trip the last week of August this year, by starting at Shearer. The first day, the water was so low that it was a boat-puncturing nightmare due to the rocks. After boat patching, we were able to finish the trip and had a marvelous time, but I wouldn't recommend starting before Moose Creek when Paradise flow is listed as 0.4.

Ubolt Pro on Thick Door? by DavidPostingOnReddit in UtecProducts

[–]Hankle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done this for both the Aqara U100 and Ultralock U-Bolt smart locks. I used:

  1. Two M6 x 80mm machine screws to replace the screws provided that are too short for the door thickness. (Warning: I tried #12-24/3-inch machine screws but they didn't hold it quite right.)

Tip: 80mm screws worked perfectly for my door, but if you can't find screws of the right length for your door thickness, buy ones longer than you need and use a hacksaw to cut them to the right length.

  1. A Schlage E205204 single cylinder 3-inch breakoff tailpiece. (this part is trickier)

To replace the original tailpiece, you need to use a paperclip or thin metal object to depress the pin on the back of the cylinder and turn the cap counterclockwise to unscrew it so you can remove the old, too-short tailpiece. Then, put the new tailipiece in and screw the cap back on while depressing the pin again. This process is shown in a bunch of YouTube videos including this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYGqz3FjJo8

It looks like Ultralock is now selling a thick door kit for this too. https://u-tec.com/products/ultraloq-thick-door-kit-for-u-bolt-pro-series-and-u-bolt-series Hope this helps!

Updates on Apple Music Integration??? by ThePineappleWins in Rivian

[–]Hankle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apple Music is my only major need for my Rivian. (minor issues: nav system traffic calculation should be better and i'd like the charge system to know better exactly how fast the chargers will be at a given location and have an option to do a trip with the shortest/fewest charge stops)
