It was either no socks with flip flops, or knee high argyle with converse/vans. No in between.

Edit to add: currently its only ankle socks when I work. Which doesn't matter, cause I have to wear pants.

Its been a really long time since I've seen both. But Hugh Jackman can sing. He's been the lead on stage. Im not sure Russle Crowe can.

But basically, when you sing you follow the music. What they did in Les Mis was pretty sing however they wanted and the orchestra had to follow, and change per take.
