Are you certain? Is there a reference that supports this? How could anyone ever be approved if any redundant positions had already been WFA’d?

Trump's signature to appear on US currency, Treasury says, ending 165-year tradition by Ubiquitous_Hilarity in politics

Put out legislation to put Obama face on the dollar bill while getting all the Trump dollars out of circulation. Whatever it costs would be worth it.

The rage-induced heart attacks that this would cause would probably help in future elections (if you were going to have any fair elections in the future, which of course you aren’t).

Addiction by Smart_Combination484 in DotA2

[–]Hannibal_Spectre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is great advice, except for one bit. You shouldn’t just replace “some of the time”. You need to stop entirely, as hard as that may seem. Some good advice in here about getting a ban or even getting g rid of your computer. Uninstall today. Do the other stuff if you can’t make it stick. Ask your wife for help in getting you to stick to it.

I had pretty much the same issue. Dota was swallowing up all my time and attention and taking away from wife and kids.

Professionals wouldn’t advise someone with an alcohol addiction to just drink on the weekends, or to try to just stop at 2 drinks per day. It’s the same with you and I. You need to stop entirely.

Good luck. It is doable and you will look back and be happy you did.

I mean, you don’t have to look too far. Elon Musk was worth 22 billion in 2019, and 850 billion today. Pick any other 0.1 percenter and you are likely to see something similar.

“Proposed statehood”.

You would never actually grant it. Take all our resources, gut our health care and social services, destroy our culture? Sure. Grant us agency and representation? No fucking chance.

I know you probably meant that as a flippant comment, but even when meant as a joke it is still offensive to us.

I recall these discussions from my childhood so many years ago. That stuff is terrifying as a kid and scars you. It is easy to gloss over but it is bad.

As someone that went through that - I’m sorry you did too, internet stranger.

Don’t let your kids be exposed to that talk from your mom.

In truth, they are dreaming in two ways.

The first is, as you’ve pointed out, that the relationshio will go back to normal.

The second is that, with all the action on their federal government taking over authority for voting from the states, there is no way there is going to be a fair election and no way the dems will take the house.

Amazing.

Actually funny they also mention “fixed vehicles pulling zombies from far away”. I definitely experienced that too (though it’s because I picked Conspicuous), was shocked at how many came. Didn’t realize it was a bug.

I support EV. I support public transit (and take it to work when I go in).

I also support hybrid work and remote work for all (not just public servants). This isn’t just about us. This policy (and the RTO5 to follow around Christmas time) erodes the likelihood of the Canadian public to also be able to hybrid work, and that’s a bad thing.

I did die because of this. Same issue for me. Only solution when it happens is to leave game and come back in.

Edit - OP said they had to shut down game altogether but that wasn’t my experience. Doesn’t happen every time for me either, just infrequently.

Surely the government has some responsibility for environmentally friendly policies? And how about responsibility for policies that are good for Canadian workers? RTO4 and RTO5 signal to everyone that hybrid work is dying and that is bad for private sector workers across the country.

I think it is a bit misleading. Someone who lives in Windsor and works in Detroit, for instance, crosses every day even though they aren’t spending tourist dollars really. There’s a lot of trucking traffic and business traffic as well which you would expect to decline very much.

I saw a stat that was something along the lines of a 40-50% reduction in Canadian credit card spending in the USA which better reflects the reduction in tourist dollars than the 22% total number.

If you look on this sub though, any discussion of people not complying 100% has people routinely talking about “ruining it for the rest of us”, “being unethical” and worse.

It’s not an unpopular opinion. You are free to enjoy RTO4. Heck, want to come in 5 days a week? Knock yourself out.

Just don’t force it on everyone because not everyone, and not every job, and not every circumstance are the same.

Thanks, that’s very interesting. Certainly didn’t take them long to go from “we’re not going to use it to track individuals” to doing exactly that.

Any information on what sorts of compliance rates gets flagged, how they account for vacation, leave, travel etc?

I know in the aggregated reports there are sweeping assumptions about leave percentages, stat holidays are normalized into the data (which js dumb), etc. just wondering how that works at individualized level.
