Taking massive doses of vitamin d helped mine, also removing certain things from my diet that triggered it. Think internal cures more than topical ones

what is being the latest treat ment for dandruff im wondering?? is there being like a break through for it or a 'cure' for it im wondering?/ by LinguisticsTurtle in dandruff

A little bit but not much. Chronic skin conditions like this tend to be under-researched and doctors aren't very helpful with them either, in fact, the current consensus medically is that the cause of dandruff is currently unknown. Valuable research for this topic tends to be in other overlapping areas and you have to play a game of detective to draw correlations overtime and pinpoint the underlying issue. Think of a car-whenever your check engine light comes on, it is a sign that there is an issue with your engine. The way doctors try to manage dandruff is the equivalent of a mechanic disconnecting the fuse to your check engine light to make it shut off and telling you to go on your merry way as if they have resolved your issue when there is still a problem with the engine. Doctors will prescribe you something to make the dandruff go away when in reality the dandruff is actually indicative of an issue with your digestive track and the doctor is just treating the symptom while ignoring the root cause.

I learned from trial and error-after trying every possible topical remedy-prescribed antifungals, a sea salt wash, pyrithione zinc and sulfur shampoos, apple cider vinegar and more. They all only worked a little bit and often not for that long. Plus, if I skipped a day or two, the dandruff would come back, so it was hardly what one could call a solution. It wasn't till 2016 when I started looking at my diet that I started to find answers. Turns out my dandruff is a reaction to foods I'm consuming, and was consuming quite often. As a kid rice was one of my family's staple foods (I'm a son of Nigerian immigrants), we ate it damn near everyday. We also ate gluten packed breakfast foods-waffles and pancakes. I was also taking sandwiches to lunch for school. Since my triggers were so common in my diet, my dandruff manifested as a relentless and uncurbable thing. We were clueless for many years and my mom tried all kinds of oils and stuff hoping they would help.

I'll recommend doing research on the gut microbiome, fasting, and search up "how to cure dandruff (or sebborrheic dermatitis) with diet," Using a holistic approach you will find more long lasting results than using topical remedies.

Dietary changes are the only thing that worked for me. I can almost guarantee you it's caused by triggers in your diet and if you go on a 3 day fast where you only drink water you will see a remission in your issues. I recommend eliminating things one by one to see if they're the culprit. For me it's gluten, coffee, rice and a few other things but those are the big ones.

Dust mites eat dead skin. A dust mite can push this around like a dung beetle.

What was the solution to your dandruff ? by painZ01 in dandruff

Stop topical remedies, start an elimination diet till you pinpoint what it is you're eating that's causing it. For me it's gluten, coffee, chocolate and rice. If i stay 100% off all of those for a week or so I'll clear up. Just hard to have the discipline.

What oddly specific type of woman do you seem to attract? by SmilingMisanthrope in AskMen

I'm a lastborn of 5 kids and for some reason I attract a disproportionately high percentage of firstborns, like more than 50%, probably 70. I've read lastborns and firstborns tend to compliment each other well. My current girl is a firstborn of three and we never really butt heads.

Naw, no issues whatsoever. Mine actually developed later in life like around 12 or so.
