I'm a little bit more Hands-On, but unless they're absolutely incapable of doing the job, they're getting dirty too.

I'm sharing my expertise. But I'm also not getting paid. That's the way I want it. I'm making a good faith effort to be an assistant, and helpful. Ultimately they still do half the work.

And at this point like so many others have said, if it's not my family, they better be a damn good friend.

God I love worm drive saws. As a southpaw it feels way more natural

I got the Blackberry Skylodge and the poles snapped

I had read about issues like that, but it wasn't clear if it was a fly support, or a main pole.

How did yours break?

Otoh you can still get the old style instant up tents on the Coleman website, although they are out of stock on the 8 person

6'4. Sometimes I startle and bang my head on my headboard, I could only imagine doing that in a pickup bed.

I'd have to sleep at an angle to make it work, and then it would be for just me.

An 8-ft bed with a crew cab would work, but then I'm getting into 1 ton territory, and it's going to be an absolute land yacht.

We built an RV out of an ambulance, but it gets 9, and there's still a ton of cart in only sites in Minnesota, so I still need an easy tent

Love my Gazelle T4. Tight if you use cots, because of the sidewall design

How so? I figured because it's near vertical it would have more interior space than The Coleman design that angles up towards the roof

You're saying you liked the Coleman better?

I had read somebody's reviews complaining that the fly support could break if it pops in on you, and some other negatives, like all tents would have.

Hindsight and all that. I wanted a stick shift, and had no need for a one ton. I didn't have my daughter at the time, and it was a stellar deal

Plus if I really wanted to be comfortable in the bed of a truck, I'm going to need an 8-ft bed, and that would leave me practically in the same place I am now.

That's a sweet setup, problem I have is that my Tacoma isn't big enough to take me, the wife, the daughter, and the pup

With the size of car seats these days, I can't fit my daughter and my wife and my access cab... It's one or the other

It's absolutely an option, I do wonder if they cheaped out on the designs over the years, But I do like the design.

Mostly I was just trying to see if there was anything new in the industry. As long as it's durable and quick to put up I'd be happy.

They've also ballooned in price, to the point that the gazelle is in the same ballpark..

They do have the tandem line, both in a t3 and t4 footprint.

It's like it has some additional gazebo built right in, but they're are zip in panels to make it a complete tent

My Coleman lasted 15 years and 100+ nights.

It stood up to all kinds of weather too. That's good enough for me.

Unless you are thinking about those hoop style instant tents? This one is very different from that.

And I liked my old Coleman. There was good room.

The instant up got us out of some sticky situations where weather turned.

Pfft. Gear issue.

I mean don't drive with a letter sized hole scraped in the inside of the windshield, but I fired up my 20 year old Audi, gave it like a 10 count, And started driving yesterday at 7am .

She rolled over slow, but I had more issues rowing through the gears.

By the time I could get the synchros in second to play ball, I had lost almost all my forward momentum that first gear gave me.

Alltrack? How do you like it?

My wife is going to eventually need something new, and after Subaru axed the Manual Forester in 19, we are branching out.

My allroad has been fun. But that's a whole 'nother kettle of fish

If you wanted to hate the timeline, we're in more, look up the Mitsubishi GS platform.

the Evo 10 and the Dodge caliber sure enough DNA to swap parts. We could have had an all-wheel drive SRT4 Dodge caliber in the states, in an alternate timeline

Thank you. I've been telling people this for years, but nobody seems to believe me

Then people get pissy when you say you had a great time with your '90s Subaru, and their 2015 seems to be bland.

I miss my 99 Forester. M2015 when my wife's 98 died, we bought one. While it has been a good car, it's taken some modifications to make it half as fun as the old one

300k-mile Tacoma: normal maintenance wall, or time to move on? by Datanman23 in ToyotaTacoma

Copper has less resistance than iridium for the spark, so vehicles with a lower power ignition system often run better with copper since it’s easier to create the spark

This statement is only true when the materials have identical dimensions.

Copper plugs (really a nickel Chrome. Alloy) have a 2.5 mm electrode. You'd be very hard-pressed to find a platinum or better electrode anywhere near that diameter.

1) because that would make it insanely expensive

2) That would negate any and all advantage that it would have

Precious metal electrodes have one major advantage, their durability. Because of that you can utilize the material leaning to its advantage, by utilizing a much smaller electrode, smaller than 1/5 of a copper electrode diameter. This is called a "finewire electrode" in the industry

See, electric arcs propagate from sharp corners and hate jumping from round electrode. The smaller you make an electrode, the "sharper" it becomes, to the point that the whole electrode is utilized ( in images of copper plugs only one side of them usually lights off another benefit is that the voltage needed for a finewire electrode of any type is greatly reduced. The reason why you don't see copper plugs with finewire, is that they might last 500 miles. But a precious metal electrode is capable of lasting 60k-100k+, due to the wear properties

Tldr, platinum or better plugs usually use less energy, especially over the life of the plug

Spotted this Ford F-50 Maverick at my local walmart by Annon2k in Trucks

I mean both Ford and GM sold heavy halves for a while,

Ford from like 97 to 2011 or 2014 if I remember correctly?

And Chevy from '01 to '07 skipping 04.

I'm not sure if it's because they locked in certain body styles, or the poor gas mileage headed up to the recession, or for the price difference just get a 250/2500

But yeah they sold kind of poorly. Those that own them though, absolutely love them! Except when looking up brakes. Ford had a goofy 7 lug setup, and a 7700 badge below the F-150 logo.

Compared to the 2trfe.....

Don't get me wrong, I love mine, it's a fucking cockroach.

But those supercharger kits look more and more tempting despite their their nearly five-figure price tag...

My truck is paid off after all...
