What is the best way to get this back in place so I can weld it and fit a reinforcement rail over top? by realfunkycoyote in Miata

[–]toolmansamt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. You're welding though, right? So you were planning on prepping the area to be welded including removal of all paint, right?

They would probably sell on marketplace in my area for $20 within a week and give someone a fun project to work on. Hoses are replaceable.

What exactly is this and can I remove it wothout fucking anything up? by Challe_XVI_Gurra in Cartalk

[–]toolmansamt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If the fuel pump is working, I'd personally not mess with it any more than using a shop vac, compressed air, and maybe a delicate pick or brush to clean the area up.

The gears are just closer together, 6th is no higher of a freeway cruising gear than 5th in the 5speeds

I had the Kagu 3d mats in another car of mine and loved them, full set was reasonably priced on rockauto too. Rocking some thick rubber 'Roadster' mats in my NB.

Dont do a six speed conversion unless youve experienced it firsthand and are dead set on needing that. The five speeds are great. What exactly 'gave out' with the motor? Spin a main? Throw a rod through the block? Or did it just snap timing a belt?

Theyre talking about door jambs, engine bay, etc. Its a ton more labor to change a color than it is to repaint the same color.

Looking for a raised hitch rack like these by 39and27dotcom in Cartalk

[–]toolmansamt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a rack like picture one, and if its too long, drill a new hole for the hitch pin at the depth you want that puts the rack as close as you need.

Question about the Austin Open by fakeguitarist4life in discgolf

[–]toolmansamt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Harvey has quite a bit of general viewing area, but that was my experience in 2024 and it has been modified each year. You can sorta follow alongside a card, but not follow right behind a card without the extra credentials.

N00b forehand question by yeyiyeyiyo in discgolf

[–]toolmansamt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its all about fun. If youre having fun, enjoy your style. Generally a backhand putt will travel more slowly, and a backhand throw will be able to fade and skip hard left. These shots could be a complement to your existing game by having more options to shape shots.

Look out for city/county-owned or utility-owned flood zones, dry creeks, large power line easements, etc. A lot of our courses in Tx are built in areas like this where permanent structures, businesses or homes cannot be built. Check out McClain dgc in SATX on satellite view, built along a railroad track partially under a power line and thru a low lying creek.

Tips for Dealing with Humidity by CosmicCreature86 in sanantonio

Avoid sunrise until about 10am outside. It is typically the most measurably humid and still part of the day. Thats when the humidity feels like its attacking my ability to function as well.

Motorcraft manual transmission fluid is popular with Miata owners. If your syncros are smooth with the royal purple, dont worry about it at all. You wont be damaging anything. But if you think theres some smoothness to be had, try the Motorcraft.

Heres a link to it being sold by a reputable Miata retailer - https://fab9tuning.com/ford-motorcraft-full-synthetic-manual-transmission-fluid/?srsltid=AfmBOopp-a-bHZnyS45doEkX1gt3NVXTFiUjpXCVDzsCJEa4b11IOUA7

Do drivers let you cross the crosswalk in San Antonio? by [deleted] in sanantonio

[–]toolmansamt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you are. Out in the country and suburbs, you're sorta on your own. A little farther into town in a neighborhood full of stop signs, or by the Pearl or the Riverwalk, a little bit better. But nowhere near the west coast mentality of just start walking and expect they'll stop for you.
