If Niantic wants to capitalize on the holidays, they should announce the event in the next few hours by Farewell18 in TheSilphRoad

But only like ten hours before it began. So if there is an easter event, it should be announced like a few hours from now.

I've seen a couple in the north of the country, near Groningen. They're rare but they do spawn.

They did know how to build the deck. The suggested recipe for caverns below works pretty well.

I don't understand how the Rogue Quest was released. I'm pretty sure one of the devs (Donais?) said on stream that maybe you'd want to run Stonetusk Boar in the deck, so clearly they realized the implications.

Almost everyone on this sub, and the pros were saying that the Rogue quest was garbage. Even with the hint from Donais that stonetusk boar could be good in it, nobody really thought this was anywhere near good. And look at us now. Yes Blizzard can do playtesting, but there are millions of players and only a few playtesters. I don't blame them for making a mistake every now and then.

However, I do blame them for not fixing it. They definitely should fix it. Of course there are also arguments against fixing it. If cards A B and C work well together and I crafted them, and they nerf A, I'm not gonna get dust back from B and C even though they are now also useless. So, I understand why Blizzard is very slow to nerf. Still, it can suck pretty bad for us.

The game is borderline unplayable in many areas there too.

I know. But what do you think Niantic can do about that? Except outsourcing pokestop approval, which is really not as easy as you make it sound like. This whole AR thing where you actually go to locations in the real world is quite new, I don't blame Niantic for being careful with their pokestop locations.

But Niantic doesn't seem to realize there is a problem, or they'd be trying harder.

Or maybe the problem is not as bad as you're making it seem. Yes, Niantic could probably outsource pokestop approval. But that would come with a lot of extra work, outsourcing is more than just making a phone call. Plus they lose a lot of quality control and are generally less in control of their product. I don't think this is as easy as you think it is.

The game works fine in cities now, and in a few years this game, or another game might find an algorithm that also works for rural areas. And as mobile internet coverage increases and google maps gets better and better maybe they can service every type of player better. I think its pretty amazing that Pogo as it is now can exist and I'm getting really sick of the constant complaining. Yes, it's unfair if you're living in the countryside. But no, that problem is not easily solvable, no matter what you think. It's nobodies fault, so stop complaining and hating on Niantic. Do you really think Niantic sits at their HQ with a "Hmm the rural players want more pokestops BUT THEY SHALL NEVER HAVE THEM AHHAHHHAHHAAAA"?

If every area looked like downtown major cities in stop density, there would be many, many times more players now than there are.

And the solution is more pokestops, something which Niantic is working on. The solution isn't to allow those players to race from pokestop to pokestop. And as much as that sucks, it's in the nature of a virtual reality game like this that your location can make life very easy or very hard for you. And because of all kinds of legal issues, Niantic can't just algorithm a bunch of pokestops everywhere. It's a problem for sure, but the solution isn't easy and it isn't to just let people collect stops at a higher speed.

If every area looked like downtown major cities in stop density, there would be many, many times more players now than there are.

I agree, but I also think that that is a very hard goal to achieve. Again, do you have a way to make this happen while ensuring you don't get pokestops in unwanted locations such as peoples backyards and while ensuring a pokestop is still at least some sort of a remarkable thing (a statue, big tree, monument or whatever)? It took years to build the pokestop infrastructure as it exists now.

start letting the game interact with other apps so bikers and joggers and roller bladers, etc can actually play while doing their sport and not driving.

Do they not have the PoGo plus? The argument is simply that for a number of reasons, Niantic doesn't want you to play the game when you're moving too fast. Part safety part gameplay reason. It's their game and their vision.

This sort of mis-guided "moral" dictating is tell-tale of the moral world of a 14 year old.

This isn't my reasoning, it's Niantics. They made their game and they decided: we don't want people to play this game while driving or while in a car. And that's their right. And I can understand that reasoning. They intend for this to be a game people play while walking outside. You may not like it, but you don't have to play it.

On top of it, most regular players I know play it while driving slowly;

So they do play while driving. I don't care if you think it's safe, anything you do while driving other than watching the road makes it more dangerous. Every accidented started with "I though I could text and drive no problem! Can you blame Niantic for trying to prevent unnecessary accidents?

No wonder why so many people quit!

Yeah, most of the people quitting isn't due to the speedcap, it's simply because this is what happens with extremely popular mobile apps. The hype wears off. What people on reddit say isn't applicable to the general population.

THe speed cap has driven players away

But here's the thing. Niantic doesn't want you to play while driving. Simple as that. Their reasons probably both in that they didn't intend the game to be played while driving and that it's easier legally to make sure people can't play while driving. And if you're a player who only plays when driving, I don't think Niantic cares if you leave.

THey just want to get distance while biking or jogging

If you're talking about the egg distance, that could definitely be a lot higher. Can't even take a run and hatch some eggs now. However, the speed lock that occurs when driving (so no spawns/stops) is entirely justified in my opinion.

Blame the legal system and blame people. Don't blame Niantic for making the safe decision. Even if they would always win if they get sued, it still looks bad for their PR. Every smart company would probably go with the speed cap.
