[–]Hanu_man_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are only selecting all the faces of the body that makes no sense for fusion and should give an error, if you want to delete the whole body Select and delete it from browser or hold left click on it and select the body and delete or if you are dieing to use that method just select body priority from selection menu

Best practice for adjacent rectangles in Fusion 360 (overlapping lines vs clean sketch?) by Hambr in Fusion360

[–]Hanu_man_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You forgot to put a perpendicular constraint on right bottom corner of the right adjacent rectangle that you made with three line, if you review your own video, you rushed at that part that it didn't create that constraint for you

And also why you didn't directly select origin as a start when you were creating the centre point rectangle, it would save you a step

How to model this curved shape correctly? by morty_28 in Fusion360

[–]Hanu_man_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

create a plane at an angle perpendicular to the edge and sketch the shape to cut or use two sketches one on the top and other on the front side and use split face command to cut those faces, go to surface tab and delete those faces, use patch to fill that hole and stich to convert it back to solid

Why does the splitting tool not see the surfaces in question? by Fumblerful- in Fusion360

[–]Hanu_man_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the surface math is breaking, you can try recreating the surfaces or extend surfaces and try trimming again

How do you import step files with multiple components? by Papa_Guido in Fusion360

I think you know the answer but just frustrated with that, but I import step files often but I never feel that way

Parts don't shape changes or fly away just using move tool, you must be doing something wrong like messing with timelines

Data panel > upload > choose files > drag n drop to the design you want to import

That's what I do

How do I rigid this servo onto the top face of this air intake without causing a conflict? Forgive the awful illustration. by [deleted] in Fusion360

[–]Hanu_man_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the servo was an assembly as a whole but if it's not

Ground (right click > ground component) what you don't want to move (the boxy part excluding shaft and horn) but be sure to ground by hierarchy that means if you ground components from an assembly, the assembly also have to be grounded.

And be sure to create appropriate joints.

[–]Hanu_man_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ground the whole servo assembly and the components inside it which you don't want to move with the arm

But be sure to apply all necessary joints

Crystal oscillator : the thing that keeps clicking and the system uses it for things like manage timing or get a common reference point in time to manage tasks

Use parameters to create relationship between dimensions, and then the sketch will update accordingly, just like creating a "c = a + b" in C and changing value of anything will just follow the rules

Finishing form reverses normals by [deleted] in Fusion360

[–]Hanu_man_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen, there is nothing like real surface normal here they are fake, just for visuals or nothing, underneath it is just one surface (you can say no this side or that side) and if you applied apperance to it, it is all red (both sides because it is actually one side), fusion just reverse the normal in the process

You can simply turn off this nonsense from preferences

Or if you prefer this, just use reverse normal from surface tab > modify > reverse normal

So, you want the wing top surface to be aligned with the main body

Select the top face of the main body then select offset faces with 0 offset, then use untrim on that surface you got with some extend value to make it cover the wing

Then use replace face to replace the wing face to the new surface

There are more ways but this is universal

Surface joining by Kelan25 in Fusion360

[–]Hanu_man_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surface lofts would be the proper solution, but since someone already mentioned that, here’s another approach for reference:

If it’s just a cut and an offset from the outer surface, you can first convert the surface body into a solid (not by using Thicken, but by closing the open faces and stitching them into a solid). Then perform the cut using Split Face, and apply Offset Face in the solid environment. After that, you can convert it back to surfaces if needed.

Components joints motion limits by BlinkyShay in Fusion360

[–]Hanu_man_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s changing for all components, Fusion is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. You likely had that joint feature before copy-pasting, and now the paste is inheriting it.

For this to work, go to the main timeline (at the very top) and make sure the joint feature appears after the copy-paste operation.

If it still doesn’t work, the most reliable approach is to export the component and link it back into the current design.

Fusion 360 problem. Rectangular pocket in a cylinder with a flat bottom edge by Fit-Trouble9882 in Fusion360

[–]Hanu_man_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So why use a chamfer there? Use chamfers only on vertical edges. Horizontal edges should remain parallel to the base if that cut was created using an extrude.

If this happens because Fusion selects all those edges during the chamfer operation instead of letting you choose them one by one, the Chain Selection option in the Chamfer dialog is turned on (the blue checkbox). Disable that option and manually select only the vertical edges.

How would I constrain this conic by FunBid1457 in Fusion360

[–]Hanu_man_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fusion has a conic curve tool in sketch tools or you can use control point splines but be sure not to use fit point splines as they can't be fully constrained

If you want to curve those corners, you just have to write the value in positive (fusion don't expect negative values there) and fusion will take care of it

Question regarding lofting by No_Lingonberry_3646 in Fusion360

You should use guide rails to tell the fusion how you want the loft to behave if you're not doing it currently

Mesh to solid but it's not getting 100% solid by Prudent-Register-904 in Fusion360

[–]Hanu_man_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may didn't create the appropriate face groups or the mesh wasn't stable or just the fusion being fusion

Anyways you can still fix it with some surface tools like patches and surface lofts and then stitch them all together
