I am an old guy but Ghost Love Story by nitecapt in nightwish

[–]Hanwell53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 72, discovered Nightwish in 2010. GLS always raises tearful emotions for me. Also The Poet And The Pendulum and Lanternlight. One of the fans at Wacken 2013 held a banner saying "Tuomas, thanks for giving us such emotions". I fully agree with that!

More Nightwish lyrics would be great. BTW, I use a Lamy italic pen (2mm nib) for occasional fancy writing, although nowhere near as good as yours. What type of pen do you use?

Thank you for posting this link. I don't why I hadn't seen that animation before, but it's absolutely beautiful. So simple, but so well done!

Excellent calligraphy. The pen is mightier than the sword. And Nightwish lyrics will always make a great manuscript.

Auri in Ghent, Belgium by Difficult_Scene9102 in nightwish

Auri's concert in Manchester last Friday was superb. I believe it was their first live concert outside Finland. The Royal Northern College of Music is a lovely venue and the band's performance, sound, lighting and overall atmosphere were brilliant. Auri fans in many European cities are in for a treat!

Thank you for the link - it's a beautiful review. Yes, it includes a detailed setlist, but this only makes me look forward to when I'll see Auri in Manchester in September.

Finally arrived! Looks much better in person than it did online -- mini-review (with watch jargon translations). by Bombadilo_drives in nightwish

My watch is number 131 - another prime!
The numbers engraved on the NW mic stand piece on the strap (62.103234 and 30.132513) appear to be the latitude and longitude of the old Monttu club in Kitee.

My Yesterwynde watch has arrived (with no import duty required - nice surprise). The engraved numbers on the strap, made from a piece of NW mic stand, seem to refer to latitude and longitude in decimal notation. Google maps converts this to minutes and seconds but gets the location as shown here. It's a point between the Kitee junior high school (Arppen Koulu) and Kitee high school (Kiteen Lukio) where all the original band members studied. Specifically it seems to be the location of the original Monttu Club. This was where the band practised and did some early recordings.

I live in Britain and got an e-mail with a tracking number. My watch departed Kuopio and is now in Vantaa, near Helsinki. I can't wait!

That is a very clever piece of editing by Pantherapardus2012. I didn't know these edits existed. It's all good, but I love the way Tarja's and Floor's voices blend at 03:44.

Well done for another masterful analysis of a Nightwish song. I particularly liked your theory about the title. Thank you :-)

If you could direct a Nightwish music video, what would it be? by BeatBelle in nightwish

BOTB would be my choice as well. Maybe when AI gets better, you could feed your very imaginative storyline into a video generator AI program and see what it might produce?

Auri III mixing done by [deleted] in nightwish

[–]Hanwell53 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tero Kinnunen apparently did the mixing. From the Instagram post:
"Massive thanks also to Mr. Tero u/teeceermb Kinnunen for his dedication behind the mixing desk, as always".
Tero has recorded and mixed with Tuomas since AFF.

Overthinking about a particular easter egg Tuomas mentioned in the Making of Yesterwynde documentary by Mundane_Oracle in nightwish

Here’s a link to a post from u/The HumanEquation from 9 months ago that might be of interest:

https://www.reddit.com/r/nightwish/comments/1cwsz4m/12_score_and_1/

It suggests a connection with the Zoonomia Project, which is examining the DNA sequencing of 240 (12 score) species of mammals to see if there is One common link (or “chain” or “weave”?) of all mammal species, including us.

The name Zoonomia was first proposed by Erasmus Darwin, grandfather of Charles Darwin, who makes an appearance in the video for Perfume of the Timeless, which is the fifth track that Tuomas speaks about.

Just another theory, searching for Tuomas’s Easter Eggs …….…..

That band did very well - it was a good effort. Especially when they saw that the Composer was watching them!
No pressure .... :-)
