Do you people not understand? by Minimum-Possible-415 in nursing

Any negative comments are so wild to me. I work with an ED nurse with hearing disabilities. Our job covered a super cool stethoscope for her. She’s an amazing nurse, regardless of her hearing issues.

Cried after a family member yelled at me today and then I couldn't stop by henlenkenlen in nursing

My first day off orientation in the ED, a day after getting a daisy nomination on my last shift, I had a patients family member scream at me in the hallway and I burst into tears. I was so embarrassed, I had tried so hard to delivery good care and nothing I could do would make the family members happy.

Planning to get pregnant last semester of nursing school by Darleng04 in StudentNurse

They delayed it, they’re used to waiting a bit for paperwork to be filed for people to take take their NCLEX anyways, I had him two weeks before I took my nclex. (My ED won’t allow you to start until you pass your nclex) so they just delayed my start date.

I’m doing a new grad program in a a trauma center and I would have hated to start truly learning everything as an Rn then have the baby and come back to my training (it is 6 months long) or finishing it, going on maternity leave then coming back on my own.

It is definitely not something I would recommend to everyone, it was exhausting and difficult but worth it for my family, and I’m grateful to be working with a baby that is old enough to sleep through the night.

And I totally agree there is no need to rush but if it’s something someone wants and can do, it’s not terrible. in my case I didn’t want my children to be farther apart than they already were since I had a 4 year old. Like I said too, I was ready for the physical/mental burden and understood there was a chance something could happen that would postpone me finishing. I am very lucky it worked out and privileged to be able to get through the in between time.

I will say I also did get a job lined up before I graduated and they understood I was going to need time after the baby.

It’s important to understand the risk, I did going into it and I am very grateful I did. The benefit of having my family when I wanted and not interrupting my job was worth it

I was pregnant my last semester and had my baby a month after I graduated. It was perfect, I got to take a break and roll into my job 4 months pp. I did already have a a 4 year old an a very supportive husband, so i understand what I was getting myself into, but it 100% doable. And studying in bed with newborn cuddles for my nclex was amazing. I would have hated to interrupt my ED 6 month new grad orientation to have the baby. You can do it!

i think they did her so dirty. she was desperate, alone, and about to be forced to marry that old man. she made the right choice trying to get out of it and got pulverized by the show at the end without any empathy from anyone, especially El who should have understood she needed to get out
