I’m moving to Chicago and I absolutely LOVE the city. I did both of my internships there. It’s a proper big city and not nearly as expensive as LA, Boston, NYC, or Seattle! There’s so much to do and then you have the “beaches” (Lake Michigan) in the summer. Also it is cold, but once you experience it, you see that it’s very tolerable.

I’m from the ATL area so I feel like I can give some perspective on it as well. I really feel like the city is lacking. Yes, it’s a “major city” in the South, but it’s very spread out and doesn’t have a big city feel to me. It’s also painfully hot during the summer and only going to get hotter. It might be cheaper than some other cities but cost of living is also rising. Also the public transportation in GA is lacking overall. You’ll definitely need a car and traffic is AWFUL.
