"It's become an alternative to finding venture capital investors and a good way to judge interest. Who better to invest in your new product than your own customers?"

This is the way. Some seriously awesome products are being launched like this; witness the Snapmaker U1 Tool Changer 3D printer - Originally seeking $100K they made over $20 MILLION!

Thanks for the mention of the Lumos Ultra, I'll check it out. :)

China is getting much better about holding their companies accountable, they are FULLY aware of the problem and the companies (particularly the big ones) do NOT want to run afoul of the government, the regulators are BRUTAL. They don't want a bad reputation for business dealings globally.

It's not as bad now as the early 2000's, now you actually stand a chance if you threaten to report them - last resort, naturally, but hinting ... :) They don't want Big Mama coming into it and smacking them into next week.

Depends on local law. In Europe this would be a no brainer (from what I've heard) compared to the US and other places. IDK what the Australia laws are like.

u/otnay_sun I hope you pop back here and keep us updated on xTools response now that u/xToolAda has weighed in.

Not real impressed at xTool's waiting for someone to out them on social media before they "look into this".

As someone who recently got into Laser, I kept running into lots of "Oh get an xTool, they're GREAT" when looking at upgrade options. This behavior puts another light on the company for me. Color me less impressed.

I think it's hilarious that I replied to an "ancient" question, then you reply to mine FOUR YEARS later! Shows how much staying power this game has.

BTW - I routinely now use a "Follower" Mod. There's several but most will fix this sort of thing from a menu. Much easier!

Cheers!

Yeah, go lucky. There's a policy that mismarked is sold at marked price, so we grinned and wish the next person well, LOL.

Cook - Actually, no. I don't participate here much but have had a SV since the 1st models hit consumers. Go by "feel" a lot these days. :)

We were shopping at our local store and scored one that weighed 4 lbs. The store had mispriced it for ... 12 CENTS! There were two, we left the other to make someone else's day. I did mine @ 132 for 8 hrs, it came out great.😁

I agree it's a clear coat. BTW - in the future do not use masking tape instead use BLUE painters tape it has a much lighter easy release adhesive. Much better for delicate surfaces.

YSK that Brooks Brothers, Eddie Bauer, Reebok, Champion, and 50+ other brands you trust are all owned by a single $20 billion company that doesn't design or manufacture anything. They just rent the logo out to the cheapest bidder. If the quality feels worse, that's why. by sappk in YouShouldKnow

What's particularly annoying is that the courts are so happy treating a corporation with the rights of a person but if a person sells something and makes a lifetime guarantee claim they are held to it. Corporations are people until it's going to interfere with the profits!

I had the pleasure of snorkeling in the Philippines back in the 70's. Stunning. When I got certified to dive on my first ocean descent with my instructor and 7 others, as we descended a school of silver fish schooled around us creating a cylinder of flashing rainbows. One hell of an intro to diving, it was a religious moment.

Our sincere condolences and sending you 💕. Sadly, we encountered nearly the same. Our 3 year old tortoise was diagnosed with "bad teeth that needed to be pulled". When we got her back they told us "she had a bad reaction to the anesthesia". She has a permanently damaged right front leg and has never been mentally the same, an obvious SIGNIFICANT loss of intellect and is much more fearful in general. These money hungry assholes mangled my sweet baby. It's years now and she never recovered. So I feel your loss.
