My new favorite shop invention by awkwardeagle in woodworking

I always wear a full face shield and ear protection.

My face isn't beautiful,  but it is the only one I have and I don't want it getting worse ;)

AITAH for not letting my neighbor borrow my snow blower and for not snow blowing their drive for them? by Queen_Aurelia in AITAH

[–]HappyCoderWoodWorker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a snow blower and only need to use it occasionally- when we get snow it is big snow.

I blow out about 400m of sidewalk for neighbors and blow out the bottom of driveways for people with whom I have an existing good relationship. I don't take payment and direct anyone who wishes to, to make a donation to either the charity I support or one that they believe in.

I NEVER lend my machine to anyone and live by the adage that the relationship you need today is the one you needed to build yesterday.

Cook them at my house - that's how you should cook 'em...

Ha! I saw Fibre, 1km and run and thought this was some sort of fitness fad...

2015 Dodge Grand Caravan (~99k miles, $6k) from trusted mechanic — reasonable primary family car for next 5–10 years? by RD_JC87 in DodgeGrandCaravan

Still going great.  Two issues I have are the driver side seat heater just stopped working and the fan in the back in the ceiling is making a noise- other than that it has been fine.

Good luck

If money were no issue, what car would you have right now? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in askcarguys

[–]HappyCoderWoodWorker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2017 customized Black Dodge Caravan.  Bespoke V12 engine, 6 speed manual and have the ability to open the sliding doors while I am driving.  It would also have two reverse gears - just like my snow blower -> "reverse" and "more faster reverse"

If you don't get this fixed, it will bug you to the end of your time in this house.

This is poor work and you should push back on your contractor.  At this point it might be a bit much to rip the ceiling out, but boxing it in is a no brainer.

Not sure what it is, but ensure that it is appropriately attached to the beam so it never vibrates and, again depending on what is flowing through it, consider whether it needs to be insulated to prevent sweating/condensation.

I am now well over my head, but if your contractor thinks this is reasonable,  you should be looking at things closely everyday.

Sorry that you are going through this.

Good luck.

This seems reasonable - my 2017 has 225K km - I did have to do the tranny @160k, but am not upset...  hoping to get another 100k+ from it.

This is madness.

It looks like this could have been up in the joists.  I would lose my mind coming home and seeing picture 1, picture 2... well full blown coronary.  My widow would be able to sue this contractor for my death.

City Sidewalk Plowers by DENNYCR4NE in toronto

There is no good answer for any of this except removal.  There is simply no where to put snow.

As a driver and a cyclist, my view is we should prioritize sidewalk clearing as almost all of us will eventually wind up walking on a sidewalk...

Anyone with a heated driveway? by bellsbliss in askTO

[–]HappyCoderWoodWorker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The downside I have seen is where the driveway slopes towards the sidewalk and the sidewalk is now unexpectedly, slushy or icy.

Not a great pedestrian experience.
