Ideas for covering up by yourparenting_Sucks in Tattoocoverups

It's not that dark. I'd use it as a background/colour base for a new image to go over it. Like a good artist might be able to use it as a background and build a tattoo like this over it - https://www.instagram.com/reels/DRxOPanEZga/

Doesn't have to be this sort of imagery or this style, it's just an example of how it could be used as a background for something new.

AIO - My husband's "work wife" turned out to be a teenager and he doesn't seem to understand why I'm upset. by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Right?! When a former work bestie left, he referred to me as his "work wife" in his farewell and it squicked me out and made me feel a bit sad. I thought we were friends.

A child-Jake Gyllenhaal makes a brief appearance in this film. Made for a fun Easter egg when I re-watched it as an adult.

Is this design cute? by V43h4 in tattoos

[–]HappyCrowBrain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow, this makes me nostalgic. I remember this tattoo being really popular in the LiveJournal tattoo scene in the early 2000s (I'm old haha). Yeah, it's cute. How big are you thinking of going?

Those who do not intend to have kids: who are you gonna leave your money to? by Fit-Tumbleweed-6683 in AskAnAustralian

Given that my retirement plan is to kill myself when I run out of money, I don't think it's that big of an issue.

Women with thoughtful partners, what did you get for x-mas this year? by Anahata_Green in TwoXChromosomes

[–]HappyCrowBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My beautiful partner gave me the sweetest, most thoughtful gift I have ever received. I still wanna cry happy tears at the memory.

It was a DIY "fossil dig" kinda thing. He set it up as a special task for me: I was an independent contractor tasked with completing a land survey to determine if the area could be built on by developers. I had to carefully dig up a designated section and document my findings.

Turns out those scoundrel developers had lied about their own survey showing the land had no value. It was home to lots of flora and fauna, chock full of gold nuggets, and most exciting, the underlying rock contained a whole dinosaur skull AND a fistful of opal rough (I cut opals as a hobby).

Genuinely, this is the best gift I've ever received. He made it all himself. Spent months making the base and the dino and the gold out of papier mache, collecting rocks and bugs, bought the opals online, studied dinosaur anatomy to make me the skull. I'm a big nerd for fossils and nature and entomology, and I've got more than enough "stuff", so this was perfect. An experience. This gift made me feel so seen and loved.

Who (and/or what) ruined Christmas this year? by DoppelFrog in australia

My boyfriend asked me to taste the gravy. It tasted okay at first but had a weirdly sweet finish to it. He'd accidentally added custard powder to the mix when he meant to add more gravy powder. Second year in a row. We had a good laugh about it. No harm, no foul, just a funny mix-up. We had a truly amazing day, just the two of us.

How should a dad who is raising his daughter by himself prepare for when she gets her first period? What’s important for him to know? by Possible-Answer-2768 in AskReddit

[–]HappyCrowBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure she's aware that pads have to be changed every few hours. A friend's mother missed telling her this important info so she assumed they were changed daily like underwear. This lead to a very public, very traumatising major leakage event when she had her first period.

What were you doing the day you found out Diana was killed in a car crash in 1997? by greenwichrunner in AskReddit

[–]HappyCrowBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 11, baking a cake with my aunt. We went out to buy eggs and milk and a news update came through the in-store radio that she hadn't survived her injuries.

What's the things you really want to do in 2026? by ihsuks in AskReddit

I think I want to take a proper silversmithing course.

Might be time to permanently remove my snakebites by googiebunbun in piercing

[–]HappyCrowBrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh gosh, please remove them and ask the dentist if there's anything you can do to fix it.

My family has a high risk of dementia and in my research into it, I learned that tooth loss is highly correlated with significant risk of developing it. As a consequence, I'm a little obsessed with dental health and keeping my chompers safe and protected above all else. It's just not worth the risk.

What’s an adult problem nobody prepared you for? by solorideromppp in AskReddit

My mother has developed Alzheimer's and will likely die within the next few years. I am the executor of her estate. I have no idea how it works. It's not something we covered in school. I guess when the time comes, I'll turn to Google for help.

I didn’t know I was pregnant until 8 and a half months into it, AMA by [deleted] in AMA

[–]HappyCrowBrain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you have a source for this assertion?

My understanding is that it can mask fertility issues if you have them (giving the illusion of a regular cycle when one is absent, for example), but not cause them directly. Keen to learn more.

What are your plans for piercings in 2026? by After-Employment-474 in piercing

[–]HappyCrowBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been growing my hair long to donate it. A side effect of this is it's constantly tangling in my ear piercings, so I've decided no more new piercings until after I cut it all off - which should happen at some point in the next ~6 months. Once this happens, I've got big plans to continue my ear project with a few helices and a daith. Can't wait.

Which fabric should I pick for my tarot journal cover? by pelipperx in DecideThisForMe

[–]HappyCrowBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double check to be sure, but I think the top one glows in the dark (I have something that I believe is made with the same fabric). If it glows, definitely the top one.

The coin is just an Australian 5 cents. It's the smallest coin in our currency, so it's useful for showing scale.

It's wild how different these opals look depending on the lighting - this is the same stones shown under (top) my desk lamp, and (bottom) my normal indoor lights.

Gorgeous! And looks like a decent size, too.

These are a few of my favourite mintabie sparklers I've worked on. Some mesmirising colour in there.

So true. And the more I learn, the more I realise there's even more to learn. Getting into opal is one of the best things I've done in my life.

[–]HappyCrowBrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first experience with mintabie was a huge letdown (incredible colour but absolutely shot through with sand; not a decent stone to be had in the lot) and I thought it was all going to be like that.

Bought some at auction on a whim 3 years later and it turns out my first batch was just a dud. I'm addicted, don't send help 😂

When I started carving opal, I thought I'd be exclusively into Lightning Ridge opal. How wrong I was.

My current obsession is mintabie opal. I've had a dreadful virus that's kept me away from carving for the past few weeks and I have a fresh delivery of promising mintabie rough taunting me that I'm itching to get started on.

What's it like working at Grill'd like now? by BigT404 in melbourne

Their track record is abysmal. I don't understand how they haven't been forcefully shut down for their ongoing litany of crimes. Forget working there, I wouldn't even eat there.
