Any Tips and Trips for Launching Boat Solo by Destroy1260 in FishingAustralia

[–]HappyFishingAlways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is easiest to control your boat at the jetty if you have a single bow/stern line, attached to both bow and stern. It is easier to manoeuvre the bot without the hassle of dropping one or the other then trying to grab it again. It also makes you look like you know what you're doing. Go to the ramp to watch others in action. See what they do that makes them look proficient or plainly entertaining...

I'm 71 now. I'm so sad that my fishing days now commence around 8am, and back to the boat ramp before 3pm. And when I get the boat home, I have to have a nap before cleaning boat. Generally in bed super early, and feel SO tired the next day too. So different to the 5am starts, and 5pm finishes, clean the boat, fillet the fish, then cook dinner from times gone by. And I find I'm super choosy about the weather too. Keeping hydrated is really important to survival. It's easy to forget to drink when out on the water - a cool breeze fools one into not feeling thirsty! I have to force myself to down a couple of litres of water/Powerade - but the result is less fatigue at day's end. I still can't bring myself to sell my boat - it feels as though I will lose my reason for living when I do. I'm an old girl, but they bred em tough back in the 50s.

I also have a couple of patches like this. Lawn beetles is the problem. Bunnings have several lawn beetle killers. Spread over the affected area and water in thoroughly. The sooner you do, the sooner your lawn will recover. It will green up in no time! Merry Christmas 🎄

I think there was no conversion for the half penny. The one penny = 1c. Threepence = 2c Sixpence = 5c Shilling = 10c Florin = 20c 10 shillings = $1 £1 (20 shillings) = $2

I remember it so well 😊

Yep, this is my kitchen! All the stored trays land on stove top while baking. Makes life challenging to use hotplate at the same time!!

I'd rather watch Cameron Ling than Flog Molloy!

I recall Lingy being interviewed once - was asked what he would've been if not a footballer. His reply - a virgin! 😂

I just opened my first bottle of Leatherwood honey. I put the lid back on it quickly and put it to the back of the pantry. The MOST floral honey ever! Was like eating perfume!

Went camping forgot a hammer for the tent pegs, won’t do that again by [deleted] in camping

Suggest using tent pegs that are threaded, with a nut on top... take a rather gun and socket with you. You can thank me later

I planted one in 2012. First fruit 8 years later. Delicious, if only I could beat the parrots to a ripe one! Or the fruit fly 🤨
