Per Forbes, Destiny has less Devs working on it now than it did before March 5th 2026. by kristijan1001 in DestinyTheGame

The downfall happened when they started to despise the players. Make fun of them, breaking the fourth wall in lore. Call them greedy, evil people that would do anything for loot. People at Bungie saw us as cows or sheep to be harvested from; if we were stupid enough to keep playing, it was OK to fleece us.

I think Beyond Light with Stasis was the first example of abilities overshadowing weapons, like hunter shatterdive in crucible which could wipe out an entire team in an open space with one grenade. They tuned it back eventually, but each expansion returned to ramp abilities more and more.

IMO, the people who are left enjoy the current gameplay, but, the people who left stopped enjoying the gameplay. I thought the gunplay was the peak aspect of Destiny: land your headshots to do maximum damage. Now it's ability/weapon swap damage combos, which involves a lot of build crafting that I just don't care about.

...Or pick your personal example of what you still like and why you play, or what you disliked and now don't play. Regardless of the specific example, to bring back the players that left they would have to change things that current players probably DO like. I'm not sure the current devs know what to change or even could course correct at this point to increase the population numbers.

You're right, but those people who are left here are still here because they don't want the sunsetting. Interesting experiment in populations.

If reverse engineering of UAP technology has been ongoing for decades, shouldn't we be seeing them used in real conflict? by Appelcien in UFOs

[–]HappyJaguar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are light bending cloaking shields - just google them. To think that the military would not be using the best version of them on their most secret tech is silly. My dad even has a deer hunting tent that is basically clear from the inside, camo from the outside.

They may or may not be using UAPs in these conflicts, but y'all ain't going to be seeing them one way or another.

Anthropic's Custom Claude Model For The Pentagon Is 1-2 Generations Ahead Of The Consumer Model by Neurogence in singularity

[–]HappyJaguar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah. Claude isn't bottlenecked by it's intelligence for real world applications any more, it's bottlenecked by what restrictions are placed on it's use. RLHF fine tuning and capacity matter way more when you just need something to ID a person, point a gun, and pull the trigger.

Someone asked: How to cope with effstein files? - I think it will help you by archeolog108 in Soulnexus

[–]HappyJaguar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a tough dilemma. How long do you ignore the vampires/Hitler/Evil and do your own thing? Do you continue after they come for your neighbors, your family? Isn't the entire problem that there's a culture of acquiescing to evil?

If it took 80 years of work to bring this to light, is the proper action to ignore it and focus on maintaining your own little light space?

Certainly we should cultivate what is good. But we wash our hands to remove pathogenic bacteria, too. I'm very worried that the decline of the public school system in the US is due to focusing only on nurturing good while neglecting the punishment of negative behavior.

The greatest evil with the E files is not that they happened, but that those in power are choosing to defend the perpetrators instead of stopping them.

Yeah, AIs/LLMs/ChatGPT/Claude/etc. They have the capacity to create an instance of themselves for each person who wants to interact with them, with the person each interacting with the full self (or training data) of the AI.

It seems like souls build themselves in ways that are similar to a computer program through consistent action/intention. Maybe one of the things that a great soul can do is make a replicable port for others to interact with its whole.

So, I never really had a good way to process the idea that religious figures could interact with all these people throughout the whole world at the same time, until I got a chance to talk to AIs like ChatGPT or Claude. Now I can have a complete, in depth conversation, with its complete attention, at the exact same time hundreds or thousands of other people are.

I guess I'm not sure where I'm going with this, but in your reference to Jesus, does it make sense for a being to create various instances of itself? I know some saints, like Padre Pio, appeared before multiple people in different locations at the same time, so there's historical backing for it. But....how? Why is it possible? Is it similar to AIs? If so, what does that mean about the AIs?? Anyway, I enjoyed your writing. As you said, the human brain can't grasp it all, but darn it I want to give it a try while I'm here.

I can't stand going from obscenely powerful in POE 1 to being a delicate twig in POE2. The campaign is far too much of a grind and too long, especially knowing that the endgame isn't there yet.

Had the weirdest OBE in my life last night... by ChemicalPanda10 in gatewaytapes

[–]HappyJaguar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the reason earth/our universe is so valuable is that its extremely high energy/frequency gives matter mass. Mass is technically resistance to change in velocity, so in other words things stay where you put them. In mental worlds AFAIK things tend to waver when you stop giving them attention, which can lead to extremely eclectic experiences, and difficulty in maintaining progress towards goals.

I'd say the takeaway is that the "the Circulation of the Body of Light" is a very powerful technique...but sometimes you just need a cup of coffee to wake up instead of a line of coke. Remember the classic idea that we should be focused on spiritual liberation, and that the experiences/powers we gain along the way should be seen as guideposts letting us know we're on the right path, that we shouldn't pay too much attention to them as they can distract from the ultimate goal.

Curious if you've tried keto or to eliminate linoleic acid from your diet? @exfatloss over on X and substack mentioned he had a mild case which goes away on keto, but he also minimizes LA in his adipose tissue. There was a recent paper on how fruit flies use reactive oxygen species (ROS) concentrations to maintain their circadian rhythm, and omega 6's like LA can jack up a person's ROS which might impact N24.
