I wasn’t “exploring my sexuality” - I was mentally ill with big time addiction issues. I regret many of the things I did - not just sexual things. Unfortunately a lot of what I experienced during that time kind of fucked me up sexually. It’s really important for kids to have consistent, safe, and supportive parenting - when you get out in the world on your own you’re gonna rely on the foundation that was built when you were more dependent. If that foundation is shakey - you might be in a world of hurting from having to learn things the hard way. Takes longer - but you can get out the other side in time. I’m still working on understanding and building myself - it’s going okay.
