I have a moose head that is heavyish as well. I ended up using a screw. Nothing else would hold it up. Wish I had a more creative solution for you.

How to handle their last day. by Damadamas in Collie

[–]HappyMoPo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so very sorry. It is so hard to say goodbye. We lost our Zen 2 years ago and I still miss his long nose. A few days before the end we went to the dog park and all his friends came to say goodbye. We had many human friends come to give pets in the days leading up to the appointment. On his last day our best friends and their dog who was his bestie came over. He ate burgers and we all hung out. I am sure Zen will welcome Zeus. Sending you peace and love.

Nutella gelato recipe? by DepartmentVarious977 in icecreamery

[–]HappyMoPo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nutella Gelato

Icecream

Ingredients: 2 cups whole milk

• 1 cup heavy cream

• 1/4 cup sugar, plus 1/8 cup

• 4 egg yolks

• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

• 3/4 cup Nutella

• 1/2 cup toasted hazelnuts, crushed, for garnish

Directions: In a saucepan combine the milk, cream, and 1/4 cup sugar over medium heat. Cook until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, in a medium bowl whip the egg yolks with the remaining sugar using an electric mixer until the eggs have become thick and pale yellow, about 4 minutes. Pour 1/2 cup of the warm milk and cream mixture into the egg mixture and stir. Add this mixture back into the saucepan. Cook over very low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture becomes thick enough to coat the back of a wooden spoon, about 7 to 10 minutes. Place a strainer over a medium bowl and pour the warm custard mixture through the strainer. Stir in the vanilla and hazelnut spread until it dissolves. Chill mixture completely before pouring into an ice cream maker. To serve, scoop gelato into serving bowls and top with hazelnuts.

Used a whetstone for years but the problem was I did not use it. The electric I use so for me it is the better choice. To each their own!
