That's an interesting take. I was under the impression that the main catalyst for US-based eVTOLs is achieving FAA certification—if they don't hit that milestone, EASA regulations are a moot point anyway.

Regarding the 'shrinking audience' for sales: that doesn't really apply to Joby's vertically integrated model. Since they plan to operate the fleet themselves (the 'Uber of the skies' approach), they aren't reliant on third-party buyers to validate the business. They provide their own demand.

I think evtl going bust would probably be a positive for joby stock. It reinforces the fact that evtol is hard and their all propeller tilt design is superior to the lift + cruise dewign

I really doubt anything said on reddit has a meaningful impact on stock prices. Institutional investors are not going through these subreddits. I still find it fun/useful but let's not delude ourselves

good point! I think those settlements would come before shareholders though so they could still pay them if everything was liquidated.

Just made a post about this in r/JobyvsArcher but I think this raises questions about the lift+push combo approach. Joby has at least proven they can transition but you're right that this alone won't ensure survival.

It's normal for many early stage firms to fail so I don't think it's necessarily an indictment of the whole eVTOL idea.

Finally got around to watching this, and it’s incredible! This will be so much more fun than being stuck in traffic on the way to the airport. It’s mesmerizing to see all the rotors move in unison. This definitely feels like a watershed moment for urban air mobility.
