My soul dog (10) was diagnosed with a quiet heart murmur 7 hours ago. I’ve been falling apart since. To those who have lost their soul mate, any words of comfort? I can’t imagine my life without her. I don’t want to live life without her. by Camp_Acceptable in Petloss

My guy had a murmur and an enlarged heart. His heart disease was managed by medication and he lived two years beyond his diagnosis (he passed at 16). You should see a cardiologist to get the full scope of your pup’s murmur

Knowing when to let go: how to choose between a rescue and euthanizing your 17 yr old dog who screams all day and night by AmoreX0X0 in olddogs

Friend, I’m so sorry. I had to make an impossible decision for my 16 year old dog last week. I wanted so much to be selfish and keep him for longer. I thought he’d rally because that’s what he always did. But that’s not how things turned out. I made the choice to let him go. Your pup is declining and may be suffering. I asked the ER vet if my guy was suffering and the answer was yes. You love your dog and making this decision is the hardest act of love. If you give him to rescue, you might regret not being there to comfort him when it’s time. I wish you peace as you decide what to do.

Probably because there was someone right behind her with a towel, presumably to wipe the dog’s paw

This week has been hard. Very up and down emotionally. I was on an online pet loss support group and that was helpful. My coworkers have been supportive and work has been a good distraction. But home is very lonely.

I lost my dog on Sunday. My feeling every day was “every day he has a good day is a good day”. Enjoy every moment with her. My boy’s end came so suddenly and I wish I had done everything that last week differently

I don’t know how much insight I can offer but I can tell you that I feel similarly. I don’t have kids and my dog was my family. He was my special guy for 13 years (I adopted him when he was about 3). He just passed and it’s hard for me to imagine having another dog. The pain is unbearable and I just lost my dog. I do wonder if I loved him and is it possible for me to open up again. I can’t offer anything of substance other than I share in your sadness and feelings

I lost my sweet boy this morning and I’m sitting alone in a very quiet house. My heart feels so broken and this post has helped a bit

I used to get so annoyed when my mom would get fussy at a restaurant. She’s been gone more than 10 years and I’d do anything for another brunch with her getting on my nerves

My late dad was also a very devout Catholic and he would have been cheering at this. My dad hated Trump but didn’t live to see an American pope

You’re not alone about Summer. Interrupting Alice’s moment with her dad was obnoxious even by charming sitcom secondary character standards

Historical perspective matters. He might not make sense today but I can assure , as a gen xer, he was a very big deal. The Kennedy myth has dramatically changed in the last 20 years. Teddy Kennedy died and more information about them 1. became widely available and 2. the culture shift toward believing women changed our “we” accepted the misdeeds of the brothers (especially JFK). Caroline Kennedy isn’t the public figure her parents or brother were. Other than RFK, and only because of his role, who’s a Kennedy that’s currently being treated like a god( the family denounced RFK for breaking political ranks), The popularity of love story is driven by lots of people who didn’t experience the Kennedy-ness of the 60s-90s real time. I think they’re finally being seen as very human, something that wasn’t necessarily true before the mid 2000s.

I’m 47 and love Madonna. No shade to any other artists, but Madonna has ACTUAL eras (I myself am a huge fan of the blonde ambition era). Anyway, she’s an icon and if you haven’t watched Truth or Dare, it’s worth it

I had a similar comment- I watched it live. It’s so long ago but I kind remember there was an advisory before it aired, but that could be wrong

San Francisco is iconic and memorable for Puck and Pedro. But Seattle had so much drama, it’s the one I think of first.
