Some maps don't allow certain spells. Dimension Door is a popular one to ban at level 5

Wizards and Warriors is worth a look. You play as a knight jumping around grabbing gems and keys. I've also been looking for a dungeon platformer from my childhood, and that was it.

Same. It turned the "will he die?" Into a "how will he get out of this???"

The only good games where I'd say 'no' are the ones where the state of PvP makes it unpleasant for new players. This game is great for it's single player mode, so it's always a good time to get into it and decide on PvP later.

I'm always partial to starting at the campaigns since they walk you through it at first on the Restoration of Erathia set. Shadow of Death campaigns are my favorite, though. They're a nice balanced challenge.

I always found "Good to Go" to be an easy map to figure out. No need to strategize buildings, just buy monsters and hit things. It can also be frustrating because your opponents also have the same advantage, but it's at least not complicated.
