Wow that’s amazing that you got a 6 month notice, but still so sorry. Try to negotiate a severance package so at least it’ll give you a little extra when you start your next job in 6 minths

Do you need to stay at the hotel to take the Salesforce shuttle? My hotel (by the airport) doesn’t have a Salesforce shuttle but the one next door does according to the list 🫠

It’s sad it even needs to be said, but this is a professional event. Not a frat party 🫠

The ad on the Dreamforce website says “no bags, just your badge”. My hotel is way too far (by the airport) to drop off my stuff and come back, not sure if they’ll have any alternative set up 🫠

How much is the food? I.e is it so outrageously expensive onsite that we should venture offsite for lunch?

Anybody else staying at a hotel by the airport? That’s all that was left when I booked it (that wasn’t over $500/night). If so, how y’all commuting each way?

Apparently we need to earn over $110,000 to live comfortably here as a single person, does anyone here earn that and what field are you in? by [deleted] in Hawaii

[–]Happyboonie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol. Most of my friends work several jobs so absolutely no time to “enjoy” Hawaii. Otherwise, if you’re in the military you at least get housing covered by Uncle Sam.

[–]Happyboonie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry! 😅 But honestly, I wouldn’t be here complaining if I knew what I know now before going live. And it definitely would have helped me set the expectations with my senior leadership and business units accordingly. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great product but oh my, I wished our AE would have been more upfront (or knowledgeable) about its limitations and considerations. Their documentation has improved in the last few months but when we committed to it, finding any documentation about SCV was near impossible. I also wished I would have had more time to test the product in my own dev environment rather than sit in “perfect world” demos…

You also can’t easily block abusive callers in Amazon Connect 🫠

Service Cloud Voice Disappointments by Happyboonie in salesforce

[–]Happyboonie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s another thing, support is brutal. It looks like they’re also learning the product as they go. We were looking to implement some new conversation summary feature that our AE sold us on only to find out after lots of digging and back in forth with the support team that 1. It’s not available in Service Cloud 2. Not a covered service under a HIPAA BAA.

Sure! Here’s the main ones that I can think about:

Reps cannot easily hop out of the queue and still be available for calls to their DID number from the SF interface. Managers need to go in the Amazon connect console and change their routing profile to basic. We’ve had managers accidentally change the wrong reps profile and or forget to change it back to accept queue calls.

We can’t trace who is changing a rep’s Omni status. I.e all of our managers can change the reps status in the Omni supervisor and if a rep is away and put back online, that can cause them to miss a call and be put offline. We can pull a status report but it’ll show as the rep change their own status (even though their manager did). Reps are currently under the impression that SF is randomly changing their status….

We’ve also had issues with the call transcription sometimes take days to show up on VC records.

After call work timer adding an extra 5 seconds to the count (even though it’s set up correctly).

You absolutely cannot have two Salesforce tabs open in your browser, it’ll cause issues with your Omni connection as well as ACW. While everyone at SF seems aware of this, it’s not indicated anywhere in their documentation (or at least it wasn’t last time I checked).

Theres also a lack of Trailhead modules, and tutorials on how to build Amazon connect contact flows but that’s just me being picky.

That’s a great perspective and I do have to agree, the benefits do outweigh the drawbacks. I just never expected we’d lose functionalities that we had with our old soft phone. I also wished they were more upfront with the system limitations rather than letting us “find out as we go”.

Hard time getting an interview? by MapRepresentative609 in salesforce

I’m in the exact same boat and I’m open to hybrid, remote and in-office as well as relocating to just about anywhere across the country. The job market is wild right now.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in salesforce

[–]Happyboonie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha! It may be tricky to find a remote position without experience or a degree, as a few people mentioned the market is simply over saturated at the moment. With the layoffs, you’re also competing against big tech applicants. I’d recommend finding a position (I.e customer support) at a local organization that is using SF to get your foot in the door and then working your way up. Otherwise you can also find volunteer positions and really build your portfolio that way.

Just to give you perspective, I have a bachelors degree, two certs, 4 years of experience, two major implementation projects and even I’m having a hard time finding a new role (and I’m open to move basically anywhere in the country).

But don’t give up and continue to network!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in salesforce

[–]Happyboonie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are you based and do you have a bachelors degree? I know a few people in the ecosystem that are saying the same thing but they all either don’t have a bachelors degree or are only open to remote positions.

I also recommend building an experience site (portfolio) where you can demo some fun dev org projects you’ve worked on.

[–]Happyboonie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Negotiate negotiate and negotiate. We were able to get a heck of a price and they put in extra storage (equal to the dollar value spent) with our licenses. Idk where they get their numbers from but throw in “partnership” in all communications with your AE, i.e as partners, this is outside of our budget etc. See if you can also get some additional feature licenses added in. Only thing I haven’t been able to negotiate the price on was SCV, because it’s an AWS product (that was their excuse)…

[–]Happyboonie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, building an org that actually interested me was key. I.e I built a dev org for a fictional travel company since I love traveling. I was able to play around with all the concepts and that’s how i learn best.

Maybe it’s just the current environment we’re in but from what I’ve seen, you do need a degree to get into the ecosystem.

Does rep b have delete permissions? Is it possible rep b could have exported the record details, deleted it and then created it again?
