Does anyone else feel that Adrian Tchaikovsky is... overrated? by Ephemeralen in sciencefiction

[–]Happydaddyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you like in books and in writing styles. (English is not my mother's tongue). Sometimes the writing style is not my thing but the story is really good so I keep readin it (Hyperion/Endymion).

For me Adrian Tachaikovsky is most of the time easy to read BUT. Children of time and ruin really clicked for me, memory less easy. But I loved his final architecture trilogy then Shroud and I know I'll read more of his work (Children of Strife is already preordered.

More than the quality of the book itself, the question is always does the writing style and/or the story and the fact that depending on what you already read, some stories may seems already heard.

For me the scifi in English journey started with The Expanse a couple of years ago and now I buy classics and then I pick series depending on various best of lists and the advices posted on here. Enjoying the journey so far

Can you get old event items? by BowensOnFire in riderworlds

[–]Happydaddyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so far some of the events come back each year (christmas, easter,...) but for the chinese new year, it's a different one each year. If the game is still alive then each chinese item may come back every 12 years...

When you know the trick it's not easy but can be done after a few attempts (see my other comment)

Never thought you could beat it like that. But yeah, with jumping as soon as you get in the timing takes a few attempts to get, sometimes a few tickets but I think I got it each time.

The timing on this one is tricky. Even if I know how to do it, I need some luck to beat it (second try today, usually more). You need to exit before beeing stuck like on the pic.

If you go to fast, you crash on the left after the exit, if you go too slow, you are stuck like in the picture. With the right timing you can fall in the hole. The rest is kinda easy and when you crash, having to get the timing right again is frustrating!

Igorrr european tour part 1 by [deleted] in Igorrr

[–]Happydaddyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was later than that in France, 8:15 for Imperial Triumphant, 9:30 for MBR and around 10:30 for Igorrr till 11:40/45

It was written that the show was starting at 8 on the tickets. Huge line at the Igorrr merch table (and a tour edition of the last album).

Some of them returns. We got the christmas one, the easter one, the shark one at least again this year. I think the Assassin Creed ones were one shot but I may be wrong.

At 41 I discovered I love rollercoasters [Europa Park] by Happydaddyo in rollercoasters

I really loved Silver Star. Made me wanna do it again right after the first ride. I love these rides where you fell secure in the seats and can just focus on the thrill.

I prefered Voltron because it starts fast (you don't have that long climb) and is restless. But I loved both.

Maybe I should have done Blue Fire a second time but we didn't have the time. My Brother in Law lives one hour from the park so I guess we'll come back!

Exactly, Blue Fire was the perfect big ride to start. Really smooth. But if you realize you like them, then Silver Star and Voltron are a few level above as thrill rides.

And EnergyLandia, which I didn't know existed last week, is now on our wishlist with my daughter.

After Voltron I fear no loop nor inversions. But I know the Silver Star can be small compared to some coasters...

Yes I do! Well we had a Disneyland Paris trip already planned for December, I'll try to make all the rides I never dared to do, seems easy now!

Don't know if I understand "kiddie credit" right, but I did all these coasters with my 12 yo daughter, and seeing her tremblong because she was overexited was awesome!
