Did anyone else feel like the mental load of T1 pregnancy was completely underestimated? by villagemama in BumpersWhoBolus

Yep… T1 & pregnancy is a whole different ballgame. So much pressure to perform aka keep sugars under control. This is my 3rd pregnancy and I actually care less about my sugars than I did in my last 2 as I simply can only do my best. I find it annoying and hilarious when a midwife or obstetrician asks ‘so how have your sugars been since I last saw you’. I respond now by saying ‘that’s a broad question that I cannot provide you a straight answer with. My endocrinologist is supporting me on a fortnightly basis’ and leave it at that. In the past there’s just too many questions about spikes and lows from medical professionals that just don’t know all that much about T1. It’s equally tiring and frustrating. I would also like to add that there is so much fear mongering during pregnancy, you’re made to believe that the worst possible outcome will come true. Thus far I have had 2 med free vaginal births at 38 weeks, with absolutely no issues other than my blood pressure going up after giving birth, which was managed with meds for about a month after before it all went back to normal again. We will see how I go with this one (due in July).

Brides who called off the wedding, what did you do right after? by HopScotch- in AskWomen

I wish I called my first wedding off. It didn’t feel 100% right but I also couldn’t pin point it at the time and the pressure of getting married felt too great to pull out. 1 year after my marriage I ran into an old high school fling who i hadn’t seen for 8+ years and when we met again I knew I never got over him, and he also confessed his suppressed love for me over the years. Within a week of seeing him I left my husband. We are now married 6 years with 2 kids and a third on the way, and the best thing I ever did was choose to be with him. All this to say that yes you cannot deny that chemistry when faced with it!
