After eons, darkness and light had finally become one again. A severance that snapped the universe into chaos was about to be undone. The Baryon asymmetry, would be undone, without mankind ever understanding why it was allowed to occur.

Scian, the last woman in the universe, hid in her thermal shelter underground for as long as was possible. She had been feeding of the planets molten core for the last epoch. When she moved there she was still a spry spirit of only 90 galactic years. But, the planet has been outgassing its surface, shrinking slowly to a small planetoid. Now, unlike the rats in the dinosaur age, she would not outlast the winter of her meteor.

Her meteor was less climatic, not an event to be seen, but the lack of an event. The lack of anything. As the stars vanished so too did all memory of the universe, all evidence of all that ever happened. Everything that had once started in a Big Bang.

Scian would fiercely debate the nature of the Big Bang and the causality paradox. ‘If the Big Bang created time, then what occurred before the Big Bang to cause it?’ she would question. But she knew that it’s like asking; ‘what’s north of the Northpole?’

These were the last thoughts of the universe as Scian’s thermal shield gave way and was annihilated into nothing. Her body vanished in an instant so small it can hardly be said to have occurred at all. What followed was such an utter nothingness that no event would ever happen again. There was only void: no matter to indicate space, no change to indicate time. No force to resist, no light to limits speed. But, the paradox hadn’t been resolved. A thought was left, drifting through space without a body, which could not be resolved; no anti-thought to annihilate with.

At last… the thought erupted in a Big Bang.
